Well, a disastrous two games leaves a bitter taste to an amazing season. Nobody saw a top 3 finish coming for Liverpool this season, so coming out and finishing above squads that were generally thought to be better, such as Tottenham, Man U, and Arsenal is an impressive achievement.

It's disappointing to give it away with shaky defending, but hopefully this experience will be a learning one, and future situations will be met with more poise. Rodgers looks to be building something great, and a smart summer will be needed to add some quality and depth to the squad.

He got verrrrry lucky. Ref put in his report that he saw the incident.

Which translates when run through the wheels of justice as, well that's ok then.

Anyways, final games off and running. Hoping for a Spurs victory today.

How does that fit in with van Gaal? Who is actually making the decision to try and sign him?

I imagine they'll have discussed targets with him. But really, Shaw is a no-brainer regardless of the manager. Evra is apparently off to Inter and Shaw already has 60 PL games to his name, he'll be in the WC squad and isn't even 19 years old yet. If you can get a talent like that, you do it. Plus van Gaal loves to work with young players.

Agreed, just wondering who gets the final say in this sorta situation. Now, if only Moyes had taken Coleman with him.

Ferdinand leaves United

no surprise here ... except for the fact that he intends to kick on. Thought he'd retire and get into broadcasting

Really strange time to be announcing this with the CL final coming up. Decent price though and makes one wonder what the future holds for Lukaku?

Liverpool going after Lallana, apparently. He'd be a great fit, but likely wouldn't be cheap. Lots of media outlets seem to think a deal is not far off.

Saints had a decent season, now will lose two of their most promising stars.

Who's Everton going to replace Lukaku with? Ba?

Guardian said a few weeks ago Spurs are going after Lukaku and all ready offered 17m but Chelsea want closer to 25m

They seemed to mention it was between Spurs/Everton for him but that was when Everton looked possible for 4th, without CL they couldn't afford him

Ya it could be a tough summer for Southampton. They have a few sought after players, plus a manager that will likely get interest from some pretty big clubs.

Really good interview with Vidic. Whilst he is professional enough to not come out and say anything directly there is more than plenty to read between the lines regarding Moyes.
Appears that he might have stayed had he knew Moyes was going to be canned.

Quote:
“There was a transition,” Vidic said. “You get someone who sees football in a different way and he will want to put his stamp on the team and the way he wants to play. Ryan [Giggs] shares the same ideas as Sir Alex Ferguson and his was a more similar approach to the one we had with Sir Alex. The players are more used to it and felt more comfortable with it. “I am not saying that the David Moyes way was bad, but these players feel more comfortable playing a certain way of football. You have to respect where you are and what you represent, though, and there is no point speaking about someone who was here, who everyone knows lost his job because he did not succeed in doing what he wanted to achieve.
“The best answer I can say is that he [Moyes] tried really hard, he was professional. He was really committed to the job and desperately wanted to do well. But unfortunately, it didn’t happen and we are all sad.

Disturbingly he doesn't deny the Jagielka story either.
