The Brass Ring (aka "Wrinkles") was great. Just on the right side of sleazy without being seedy.
According to a divorced buddy of mine, the Tropicana in Altadore is a known cougar bar these days.

I worked at staples in university. We glued a few dimes to the floor, had a few laughs, then the floors were polished one night shortly after, and the crew just waxed or polished right on over those dimes. Our GM was pisssed. One of them was there for a few months at least - right where you walked in through the doors.
As I recall, it was finally chipped off with a metal garden edger-thing or something.

I have a memory of two bars, but can't recall their names:
>1 located in the NW corner of 10th Ave and 8th ST SW
>1 located on 10th Ave SW, just off 11 ST Sw, the googles tell me it is now called LIPS KTV (Karaoke bar)
My dusty brain tells me there were cougar bars at both locations.

I'm having vague recollection of a place in that vicinity. Was it Lucky's? Or something that started with an L? It was a downstairs place that I'm thinking of, that had live music. Probably karaoke on other nights.

Can confirm about the kings head, it's pretty dive-y though. Weekends with live music is always a good time.

Whoa this would of been a montrosity that Calgary Next would of been a ant hill compared to this mega-plex.

I can't remember if I posted this..
But who remembers the Sizzling Wok on 12th?? Closed in the early 2000's the best satay+peanut sauce of all time. I haven't had anything close to that since then. Malaysian menu.
I literally have dreams eating that food.

Will the one dollar coin be accepted by Canadians?
Flashback from 1986: https://www.cbc.ca/archives/a-dollar...1986-1.5039768
Also didn't realize the first design was scrapped because the dies for the original coin were lost in transit before reaching the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg.
