Hopefully to get this back on track... I think this has the potential to work out well for Montreal, but definitely not what I want the flames to do this year. Leave the big question marks like this out of the organization while it is still developing its culture and figuring out what we have in players. We dont have enough roster spots as is, no need Laine with our FA signings.
In a few years this is the type of situation I do hope we indulge in though.

My favorite is Montreal missing the playoffs for 7 straight seasons when they literally made the Cup finals 3 years ago. Also, the complete 180 on calling Florida the biggest fluke team for making the finals in 2023, suggesting they'll be lucky to make the playoffs this year. His homerism and hatred of other teams is just insane in terms of the opinions that come from it.

Reading comprehension...they made the playoffs in the covid seasons. Unlikely they do either year with normal configuration is what I specified and it wasn't even me who said it first. Flames are a bottom 5 team every season according to some of you. One time in franchise history though in reality.
Lets check some stats shall we
League Finish the Last 7 years
28th
28th
32nd
18thThe great cup final you speak of, fewer wins than the Flames who were terrible, no covid no playoffs
24th
14th (No Playoffs)
28th
Montreal has been BAD, statistically worse than the Flames have ever been over a 7 year stretch and IMO they don't have the roster they should considering how bad they have been.

Nevermind...previous post stats back up my position
personal vendetta attacks are the only debate points anyone is making
"when the debate is lost the tool of the fool is slander"
Habernac attacked me first for daring to question the great Habs who have been mostly terrible, they have and its not an opinion

That the same habernac who said the Canadians are 2 - 3 years out from being a good team? That's him attacking anyone who questions the great Habs?
And yes, we know you were knocking off the Canadians two playoff seasons including literally a Stanley Cup finals run due to covid structure. We didn't miss that, we just laughed at it.

I didn’t see highlights but it sounds like they went after him all game and injured because he only played 1 period.
Seems like his comments really pissed them off.
Strange comments coming from a guy who has had his commitment to winning questioned.

The alternate view is that your commitment to winning must really suck if even Laine thinks you lack it.

It sounds a bit bitter as well. He said the team is 1 2 3 cancun in December. I highly doubt that.

Laine decided things were finally going too well for himself and had to put a stop to that.
Trouble follows him it seems

BJs don’t seem too happy about it:
Did you happen to hear Patrick Laine's comments this morning?
"Yeah. It's unfortuante. As guys in here, and as a guy who's been here, we
were nothing but good teammates to him, nothing but good friends to him. For him to bash us like that, I think it's just unacceptable. I hope he's all
right with whatever he's dealing with tonight, but he didn't finish the game.
A couple hits and ... yeah, i don't know what happened, but it's unfortunate. We were nothing but good teammates to him. For him to come in here and say all that, that's bull####. Definitely not happy about it and none of us in
this room are happy about it. That speaks more about him than it does us."
It provided motivation tonight?
"Yeah, 100 percent. What's he thinking saying that? It's just incredible. I've got no more time for that. I don't wanna talk about Patty anymore. I hopehe's all right. I just thought that was pretty ridiculous, to be honest."
