Man, there will still be some nice players available for those second-rounders, too.

This has been confirmed by an actual insider and other sources as truth even though squiggs tried to say otherwise and I got piled on for that. That info was actually dead on, everybody in the Flames organization thought he was re-signing and they had reached a deal. I mean feel free to send a message to our new GM that he is not reliable because he admitted to believing the exact same thing. So when someone wants to throw Gaudreau in my face, feel free because even though he decided at the last minute to change his mind the info was solid. Then BT was fired and everyone went on about how the organization chose Sutter over him, Sutter was just extended and too expensive to let go, he isn't going anywhere. I got info that the Flames management were going to make a coaching change and so instead of just saying that and getting roasted again in case that info somehow changed I said I would be shocked if Sutter was back. Again, I got piled on and Gaudreau thrown in face and when I turned out to be right, where was anyone saying anything about that? Nope, just more piling on about the Gaudreau miss. My source had no leads for me in the coaching hire because he didn't know anything definitive, just what we all had heard. So I never once said who it will be, just who I would like to see. Sec's source had Love as the HC and he was wrong, it happens. Sources can get things wrong sometimes, or a team can pivot on something. When Sec has nicely shared his latest news everybody treats him like he is Elliot Friedman, nobody is throwing the fact Mitch Love is not the HC and that is great because it is valuable that he shares what he hears, even if it doesn't come to fruition. I share what I am hearing on Lindholm and what do I get? "Who is your source" Gaudreau V2.0" Just an absolute #### on by a community I try and share things with. So F it, I am out, my life is super crap right now and I don't need this. This is really my only interaction with a community I liked to enjoy but I am tired of being constantly crapped on here, life has already done that enough in the real world. I don't want to argue anymore, or fight anymore, or actually do anything anymore. F it.

I have to say...I appreciate that people like Sec214 and Dissentowner share inside information that they are hearing about the team.

And people that question them or call them out can screw off. Rumors are rumors for a reason and don't always come true.

If you don't want to believe it or don't believe they are telling the truth then just ignore it.

Especially when it's from long time posters...Dissentowner has been posting here for almost 20 years...not like he's some troll that just joined spewing a bunch of info.

There are a few people here who have connects to the team. The fact that they post what they hear on this site should be celebrated. I think it takes guts to post that information up here and put their neck out. Not just for posting the rumours but they could burn a bridge with their contact. We should be happy we get this sort of thing. I also imagine the mod team here does some sort of checking behind the scenes when these sorts of insider comments are posted. Crapping on posters when it’s clear things changed or the info doesn’t come through as originally described seems weak to me.

Yeah honestly, those constantly doubting and asking for sources to be revealed are why we can’t have nice things.

You’re having the opposite effect than you think you’re having. Let the mods ask for sources.

Just enjoy the content and take your own grains of salt. But don’t ruin it for the rest of us who really love having the inside knowledge and trust that nothing will ever be 100% unless it’s Conroy himself posting up in here.

Also. Even if someone is just making #### up it is still fun. Nothing has been outlandish speculation

I think Washington could put their 8th overall in a deal for either Hanifin or Lindholm. They’re light on D and if the talk of kuznetsov wanting out is true then they’ll need a center for Ovi desperately (backstrom may be done). I think if Michkov is gone before 8, then that pick is very much in play and would be a huge add for the flames

Excuse me Trent. We're going to need to see some proof that you and you're opinions/ideas are real before you just jump in all willy nilly as if this was a message board about a sports team. You know what, actually, you're not even welcome here anymore and THAT GOES FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO'S POSTING INFORMATION THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE AND/OR HAS NOT BEEN VETTED FOR CONSUMPTION BY VILLEN.

IDK - people take this stuff too seriously/personally.

Also, it’s rich when thread crappers complain about being crapped on.

Not opposed to it, but trading all 7 would be a re-build and not a re-tool. That's 4 of your current Top 6 forwards and 2 of your current Top 4 defencemen.

Depends on the plan though. You could use additional assets in a year to regain some players.

If you trade all 7 your are going to have a ton of picks. Key would be getting a good pick in this draft and hopefully #1 CGY 2024 is a very high pick. If they actually got a top 3 pick next year and a top 10 this year through trade and had a bunch of extra 1st and 2nds to aquire RFA's from teams with cap issues they could turn is around in a hurry. IMO Lindholm is the only player that is really high end of the 7 guys they are moving.

Moreover, trading 31% of the active roster is not remotely realistic, since all of these positions then need to be filled. There is just simply no chance of this happening for any team.

They’re not trading 7. It all hinges on Lindholm and Hanifin. Those two would be the likeliest to be dealt this summer. Toffoli, Backlund I could see playing out the season and potentially flipped at deadline as veteran rentals.

I am going to assume Lindholm and Hanifin are dealt. I think they will come to terms with both Backlund and Toffoli and both players will get new letters next year. I think the other 3 on the blueline they roll into the season unsigned with waiting to see what Kylington does before focusing on his extension. I think Zadorov and Tanev remain unsigned until the deadline or beyond.

I could see those being the flames plans with Toffoli and Backlund. Whether those players are sold on the team’s future might be another story. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

I think it'll breakdown like this:
Traded this summer: Lindholm and Hanifin
Eventually re-signed: Backlund and Kylington
Traded at the deadline: Toffoli and Tanev
Let go for nothing: Zadorov.

I hope I'm wrong about Toffoli. I just don't want that age of player signed (especially after a career season), but I feel like he'll be part of the "competing this year" focus.
