Because we have 10 "at least we got a point" games now. Swing half of those in our favor and we're in a 3 way tie for first in our division. We need to close these OT games out with wins.

I was happy with their game until 4-3 . Thought they were full marks, despite a couple bad odd man rushes

Once they got the lead they mailed it in. Except there was 10 minutes left in the 3rd

What a time to just get comfortable and raise your sails

At least if the game was 50 minutes we could say they had killer instinct

If the Flames don’t make the playoffs this year it’ll come down to brutal perfomances on the powerplay and in OT.

Guess you could add other things. But those two were consistently bad all season.

Goaltending has also been poor all season. Multiple components are at the core of these struggles.

This Huberdeau contract is going to take this team down for almost a decade. I see a Suter and Parise type of buyout coming in 2 years.

jesus christ. We have a goalie on a 13 game point streak! the most in franchise history. Just play him!!!!!

But my take is some of those saves look tougher than they should have been because of the issues mentioned above.

When a goalie is on everything looks effortless. They are big in their net and crisp and compact in their movement .

Markstrom is the opposite right now. Everything looks hard.

He's deep and small in his net. Late to react on pucks, and his lateral movement is chaotic.

This. Every save is an adventure with him.

Apparently the bar for a $6mil a year goalie is not to let in unscreened shots from the blue line (which he has done this year), and not to actually make saves and win games.

He is rocking an .890ish save percentage on the season and has won 13 ganes. Until he starts winning some games if he lets in 5 on 32 shots I am going to say he sucks. Because objectively his results suck.

And somehow magically the other goalie is getting it done...and against a harder schedule.
