come on now...you know that isn't how NHL standings work

unless you want to say they were 17-17 in January last season

Strange to have 2 back to back against the same team isn’t it? Especially with a full 82 game schedule?
Apparently the players liked this coming out of the covid bubble. Probably doesn't hurt the case having the back to back is in California. Flames have one more of these, where they play STL back to back.

Boy that was a rough game for San Jose last night. Glad the Flames took advantage of quite possibly the worst display of defense and lack of structure I've seen in a long time. This was the exact type of game Huberdeau would thrive in and I thought his line looked quite dangerous compared to previous games.

Good to Markstrom finally get the monkey off his back too. The team looked extra excited to see him get the win. Normally I'd say that that wining a back to back situation against a single team would be hard, but with the way the Sharks shot themselves in the foot and the lack of structure they play with, I'm not confident in them coming out with a victory. Maybe they'll surprise me, but Hertl is out and their depth is complete crap, so I got the Flames on Tuesday.

I feel like winning two in a row as a visitor would be extremely tough too. San Jose is likely to come out flying tomorrow.

They mentioned during the broadcast that the scheduling was on purpose after GMs liked the format in the bubble when teams played series against each other, but the GMs liked 2 game series instead of 3 or 4.

personally like the idea of playing the same team twice in their building. One or two a season and you won't notice much, but if you do this semi regularly there will be some great second games with bad blood and extra energy from the first game.

You wouldn’t like it if you were on the team and had to spend two nights in Edmonton.
