And we wonder why we lose good posters for months/years at a time.

For the old-timey Flames, Steve Konroyd was a great stay-at-home defenseman. I always liked him. Played almost 900 games in the NHL.
Rick Vaive, when I was too young and dumb to realize the Leafs were trash.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Huge part of #8's success gets so little credit.

Brian Rafalski - 11 years in the NHL and only 2 of them did he score fewer than 40 points from the blue line (one of those he had 36 points in 69 games, which is a 43 point pace). The guy was never a franchise D but was maybe the best "other guy" ever, as he had that position on teams led by both Scott Niedermayer and Nick Lidstrom.
Vincent Damphousse - 1205 career points. The dude had more points in the 1990s than Lindros, Fedorov, Mogilny, Selanne, Bure... the list goes on. Just was never flashy about it.
Alexei Zhamnov - Not quite Damphousse level production but I just remember him as being a really fun player to watch, and quite a solid career with 719 points in just over 800 games.

Rejean Lemelin - he was my first favourite Flame. There was a time before Vernon when he carried the team on his back.
I also thought Willy Plett and Paul Reinhart were awesome.

He was amazing. And went to Flames training camp. Dunno what happened there.
