It's just so bizarre that a three game winning streak is being treated as a two game winning streak because of a trade.

This has looked like a totally different team the last 3 games.
Great win tonight.

I would say if the Flames go 4-0 against the Habs and win them all in regulation, it is more likely that the Habs go .500 over their other 12 games than it is that they go .667 over those games.

In that scenario the Habs pick up 12 points over the rest of the year and the Flames would have to go 4-5 the rest of the year. The key is the remaining 4 games against the Habs. It is hard to envision a scenario where the Habs lose 4 games to the Flames but they light up the Leafs, Oilers and Jets in their other games.

I guess but if the Flames go 10-3 but lose 3 against Montreal there is a far better chance the Habs are over .500

Flames go 4-0 and the Habs might really struggle to make .500

Montreal has won 18 of 40 games

Reminder that Montreal is 2 and 5 in last 7 and the one goal deficit they had in the third was generous. Flames were superior today, after playing last night to boot.

Everyone out here trying to figure out the Flames' playoff math, when the formula's been right there in front of our faces the whole time...

(I tried to embed, but it never works for me...)

Pretty sure Sutter will be telling the players they have not won anything. Flames can be better than they were tonight!

Its nice to see the team play with some jump again. The line combos seem to be working well.
Just when I was souring on these guys, they pull me back in, which isn't a bad thing.

The team seems to be much more comfortable playing the Sutter system. If only we had Sutter to start the season

The problem with unproven coaches is they have to figure it out, not just the players. There are a lot of things Sutter already knows which gives him an advantage over an average coach. I remember an interview awhile back where GG talks about asking Sutter how he got the players to play for him. To me that was telling as GG didn't know the answer, If you can't get the players invested it doesn't matter what systems you get them to play.

The Stanley cup runner up will still have the 31st pick.

When the coyotes forfeited the 49th pick in the 2020 draft, the Flames didn’t move up from 50 to 49. They stayed at 50. The 49th pick was blank.

The flames took kuznetsov but can anyone name the 49 players taken ahead of him?

I'll celebrate the wins when they come, but I really hope they don't get many more. If we were to pick a calling card for this team over this core's reign, it'd be that they like to tease us with hints that they could be good while never actually being good...so I guess I can't complain about them doing what they always do, but that math is not good and it's frustrating to see them play some of their best hockey of the year in what is an almost entirely meaningless stretch of games.
