One assist. He’s our star, not anywhere close to good enough.

Expect those words at least half a dozen times from Treliving.

Living and learning from tough experiences = maturity and wisdom
Lot of critical roster players, hopefully, are going to get better from what happened in this series.
They missed the playoffs last year and had 50 wins and were 2nd best in the regular season. That’s a significant improvement.
Yeah. Maybe I am too patient but I am not ready to sell out at this point.
|
I’m not ready to sell out, but it’s time to move on from Monahan. The guy is as gutless as they come. He’s been a career loser going back to his days with the Ottawa 67’s.

You’ll hear that, but I guess you’ll also hete that they’ll look to improve the team as well. If you don’t hear the latter my guess is you’ll see it before next playoffs. But I think you’ll hear it because both things are true. This burns but the team will get better from this, but also all the answered are clearly not in the room and I’m betting BT isn’t blind to that.

I don't care about excuses. "He gets no calls," whatever. He does not perform, and he has not performed.
That is an inexcusable level of ineffectiveness.
|
Brodie had more goals and points than Gaudreau in the playoffs. That says a lot right there.

He was trying way too hard to make up for his missing line mates. Gaudreau is not the problem. How many more points would he have if Monahan or Tkachuk didn't play the puck like a grenade when it got to them. Other than that terrible goal Grubauer gave Lindholm did he even contribute offensively in 5 games?

The Caps choked for a decade before they made it.
No way this fan base can tolerate a decade more of first/second round chokes before we finally win.

You can't make any excuses for one point in nine games. That one even-strength point was a secondary assist.
Gaudreau has not recorded a primary playoff point at even-strength in four years. Nine games. Zero points.

Peters completly out coached. They targeted Johnny with slashes right from the start and Mckinnon was allowed to do whatever he wanted. Don't even remember him being touched til this game when Kachuck took the interference penalty. Hate to say it but Janko has to go, nothing worse then a 6 foot plus player playing like a 90 pound wimp every f&^%$ing game. The chickn#### two man advantage turned the tide in this series.

Am I disapointed the Flames lost. Hell Yes.
But i'm extremely proud of the season they put up. How many of us could say we would have ended up as the #1 Seed in the Western Conference back in August. This wasn't our only year to win the cup, the future is bright and trading away 90% of our roster isn't going to fix this.
Retool and come back firing next season.
Go Flames Go!

Brodie also had triple the assists for the Avs than for the Flames. what does that say? and weak as hell.
The Oilers may have 6 Giordanos but we have 6 Bouwmeesters. Thats not going to cut it in the playoffs. Way too effing soft.

It's not just JG, but it's not NOT him either. The best players can put teams on their backs and drag them across the finish line. See Iggy or MacKinnon. JG let himself and his line fall apart. He definitely deserves a solid chunk of the blame.
