you just have to laugh at the depth of this blueline. Being able to scratch your top 4 guys and still go with Andersson, Valimaki, Kylington, Stone, Fantenberg and Prout is just crazy. Valimaki-Andersson has the potential of an outstanding top pairing in the future.

And that DAG line is something else. At this point it's probably unfair to call them the 4th line, even though they are on paper. A far cry from past 4th line iterations, that's for sure. Derek Ryan is awesome.

Turned the game off after 2, as a) I didn't care a whit about the outcome and b) it really looked like that game was going to finish 3-2, or maybe 4-2. I figured that the first line would see about 94 seconds of ice-time but I failed to factor in how little Quick cares, or is capable of stopping the puck, any longer.

Great news about Bennett this morning. Going into Anaheim, I say rest Gio, Hanafin, Hamonic and Rasmus, and let Brodie settle in with his new 3rd pairing partner(s). And put the 1st line up in the box.

Then, bring everyone back on Saturday for one final tuneup, and close out the season with a 10-2 beatdown of McJesus and Friends.

Can't wait for the playoffs. This team just looks so solid top to bottom right now.

Regarding the "meaningless games" comments towards Jankowski, while this is true it is also a game where Janko gets a lot more minutes than he typically does. Same was true in that game against VGK last season. It's hard to fault a guy who is productive given more minutes and time in the offensive zone. While I'd like to see more consistency, I really think Peters should give him more opportunities like this.

As far as Jankowski and consistency goes, he's increased his point total over last year by 7, and is one of our top penalty killers. Dude is just fine.

And Peters is lying through his teeth on Bennett. There's absolutely no way I dress him again in the regular season. Especially against the Oilers where Kassian and Lucic will probably be running around trying to injure people.

Hey now, it's 2002 when dealing with a traumatic brain injury is just 'getting your Bell rung'.

Should've thrown him out there in the 3rd so he could get his legs back!

Plus Neal has been a beast since he has returned.

He was just pretending to be Lucic the first 3/4 of the season!

Everything else in your post is spot on though!
Maybe we can start calling Janko Mr. April?

Its funny how much opposing fanbases hate Tkachuk, yet want him in the game...

Weird....

Bottom 6 is looking confident right now. That Ryan-Mangiapane-Hathaway line is something else. I’ve never seen a 4th line on the Flames like this. They’re the MVP of this team since the all star break.

Their production is right up there with everyone else, their +/- is killer and they’re defending unbelievably. This line could honestly be the secret for this team going deep. They beat up on other bottom 6 lines and that’s a major advantage going into the playoffs.

With Nea playing the best hockey he’s played all season and Janko forming chemistry, this team has the potential to go deeeeep. This city definitely needs it too with all the negativity over the last little while.

If you go to the Private Messages screen, you will see "Edit Ignore List" in the left hand pane. Enter the offenders name there, and enjoy the peace.

What Stanley Cup winning team didn't have solid contributions from their bottom 2 lines? Probably none.

Anaheim road their bottom 6 to a cup win.

This is awesome news that our bottom 2 lines are rolling full blast into playoffs. You know the top guys are going to get checked 10x harder then the regular season.

Right, but my main point was that this 4th line is playing more like another 2nd line which this Flames team hasn’t had for decades. They may actually be the best 4th line in the league right now. How often does this line get scored on too? Almost never. They’re playing incredible hockey.

If the top 2 lines cancel each other out in the playoffs, I like the odds of our 4th line beating out the opposition’s 4th line.
