I wonder how many Calgarypuckers woud be proponents of a Donald Trump-esque travel/immigration moratorium right now if this heinous mass-murder happened at the Saddledome...
Ask around, no need for a heinous mass-murder for people to want that.
Ah good, he should stop trying then? Guy leaves radicalism, writes a terrific book about the experience, starts a foundation to help combat home grown issues within his Muslim community, a true reformer and all around awesome guy..
This guy takes attacks from liberals and conservatives, its amazing how stupid this world is.
Some nerds get upset that the gender of their favourite superhero is changed and social media swells with a chorus of condemnation of misogyny.
A fanatical young man sets off a bomb that blows dozens of girls and young women to pieces, while an organization notorious for enslaving and raping women takes credit, and we hear nothing about misogyny.
I can't begin to get my head around the reasons why.

Yoy really think you're the only one who noticed that?
I totally agree but that video was a total dud. There's just not that much to say anymore. It's the same ole story.
His point about the "lone wolf" meme is important. It's a total cop out, and a cynical way to play politics in the wake of a tragedy.
Yes, ISIS will take credit for any attack in order to ensure that they remain relevant, and most of them aren't going to have some central planning element by ISIS leaders. But these types of incidents don't just happen out of thin air, either.

Man won't somebody think of the poor white men?

Just going on what's happening in the UK now, its beginning to look like this wasn't a lone wolf style attack.
Three men have been arrested and the Brits are still looking for what they call the Bomb Maker. They also called the device used a sophisticated device with a Kg of explosives.
There was also an interview with the Bombers Iman who confirmed that the Bomber had been radicalized and was friends with a ISIS recruiter.
They're also now linking the Bomber to a recent trip to Syria through Libya.

What's the difference when a politician or news anchor is reporting after another mass shooting in the US? Whether it be at a school, movie theater or a shopping mall. Just words right?

That's quite simply not true. White men that try to judge others through a glasses of ingrained white privilege do, however, run the risk of not knowing what they are actually talking about and indeed being bigoted.

I can't wrap my head around why you think an Ariana Grande concert was a gender-exclusive event. "Only girls listen to ____" is something I expect to hear from my lovely but culturally obtuse grandfather.
There were plenty of young men at this concert, and they have been unfortunately included among the victims. "Attack on an Ariana Grande concert" doesn't ring out as "I hate women" to most people in the same obvious way that "My fave superhero can't be a woman" does, but it's not like ISIS has ever hid their views either. There's no sudden realisation of "OMG, ISIS are a bunch of MISOGYNISTS??" like... yeah... amongst other things. It really just seems like someone looking for something to be upset about and push their personal agenda, which is extremely sad in the wake of a tragedy.

Isn't the misogyny a given? And would anyone dispute it?
This seems like saying "Klan lynches man in rural Mississippi, yet we hear nothing about racism".

Damn, this is awful. Mother of the 8yo killed in the attack is in intensive care and not been told yet her daughter was killed. The right decision by doctors for sure, but that sucks.

This sentence is disturbing.
Why didn't the Imam report to authorities right away when he realized the young man became radicalized?
With the threat level on high/critical even before the attack, why aren't people who are suspected of potentially carrying out future attacks locked up?
If there are known ISIS recruiters in the UK, why are these people not locked up and treated the same as foreign spies or nationals trying to topple the government? If they are foreign, they should be deported.
This Imam is guilty by association as far as I am concerned.
