Theoretically, they have a chance. You and I both know they aren't making it.

Now the kings trade Iginla to the Flames for a conditional 3rd?

Happy he is not in Edmonton. Would have liked to see him here.
Ideally Kings catch the Blues, and proceed to knock of the Wild and Hawks.

No sense overreacting to the conditional fourth until we know what the conditions are. The conditional fourth in the Hansen trade, for instance, becomes a first if the Sharks win the Cup.
As far as Iggy goes, I don't much care what the haters say. If the Flames don't win the Cup, I hope LA does.

Mark your calendars. Instead of his final game at the Saddledome being March 27th, it will now be March 29th.

Yes... what possible downsides could bringing a previous captain and franchise face back to an organization that has moved beyond him ever cause??? It potentially undermines the existing leadership and certainly buggers the existing chemistries in the locker room.
You can have a cancerous situation without being a cancerous player. Hell, even bringing a player in at trade deadline ( for example, had we brought in a goalie, it would have undermined and been a direct hit to the confidence of both our netminders ), regardless to who that player is, can be cancerous.

I didn't think you were disrespecting at all, but you then started to compare trade values from what a 34 year old player to a 40 year old player. What was your point then with the comment?

You do know Iggy was beloved in the dressing room here and has never caused 1 problem in his entire career. I'm sure Avs fans are probably all pissy about him but he's the only one on that team with a backbone. He has an insane work ethic, is a great leader, and from all accounts a very good guy who was class personified during his time here. Ya I reallly don't see how he would have a cancerous effect. You can say you don't want him messing with the chemistry of the team but don't say Iggy would've been disruptive in the locker room. He's a consimate professional who I'm sure would've known his role if traded here.

The players the Kings picked up were the guys I wanted the Flames to get. Iggy coming for a late pick was expected and Bishop came in very cheap.
Theoretically we could have added Stone, Bishop, and Iginla without giving up our 1st round pick or a top 5 prospect

People are super sensitive. He is getting a better way to go out (if he even goes out) than 99.9% of hockey players.
The reason the Ray Bourque thing was so spectacular was because of how unlikely it is for it to end like that.
Iginla has nothing to be ashamed of. He is 40 and a team just traded for him to play next to their best player.

This is idiotic. People can be both respectful of Iginla the former player and not want Iginla the current player. They are not mutually exclusive.

Whoa. A lot of hate for Iggy in here, which is absolutely childish to be honest. Have a bit of respect folks.
Guy's a beaut, just doesn't fit our MO right now. He spent majority of his career on a team that couldn't build into a contender properly. Hopefully he gets some success with Sutter but if we need to beat LA to get into the playoffs, so be it.
I am in the camp of not bringing him back but the ridiculous and disrespectful comments in this thread is just baffling.

LA is 5 points back of St. Louis (behind a game) and 6 back of Calgary (game in hand), there is a realistic chance they make it. Especially if the Flames start slowing down.
