GoFundMe Campaign for CP Member - Children Stuck in Australia in Custody Battle

I don't want to pile on here, but doing a public gofundme request for money does invite scrutiny.

This is about a grandmother sticking up for her daughter but also trying to get help from the public at large, and whether the daughter or her husband are in the right or in the wrong, you have to acknowledge that at least asking is allowed.

Reading the public posts, these are the claims reorganized, and assuming all the claims made are true:

-her daughter married an Australian
-they lived both in Australia together and in Canada together
-they had 4 children together
-despite this, her daughter overstayed her allowed time in Australia. (something's not complete here-- how can you be married to an Australian citizen with his children and not be able to stay)
-when they were in Canada, he left with the four children with her daughter's permission, in December 2015. He was sole caregiver it seems from that December until now.
-the daughter would not be allowed into Australia until May 2016, so it had been planned the father would be primary caregiver to these children for at least 6 months.
-before that, in March 2016, the marriage broke down.
-by November, the daughter obtained a court order for return of the children to Canada
-There is a suggestion that the father will hand the children over.

Now that I've gone through that exercise, its hard to know what to think. He took care of four kids as primary caregiver with the mother's consent halfway around the world. She allowed that and stayed in Canada. Maybe now there is an acknowledgement this was a mistake, and maybe on both ends, who knows. A sad situation the big question is what is in the best interests of the children.

If it were in the best interests of those four kids to be brought back, I'd be willing to donate. If its merely a case of a remorseful mother now wanting custody, I probably wouldn't but forgiveness for mistakes is important to consider and I'd consider it also.

EDIT: They were there on a pleasure trip months ago? That changes everything.

I was already considering asking for it to be deleted earlier today. I have enough on my plate without having to respond to people I don't even know.

Well that is just it though isn't it? There is no real information. Of course people are going to ask questions. While FL did not advertise on CP, GoFundMe is a public funding source. People should be allowed to question, debate, donate (or not), but you get sick over that? Maybe forums aren't for you?

Why should this thread get deleted? Posterity, please. Things are definitely looking fishy here. Doesn't mean we need people to go full dbag, but hey, this thread can still be used for future reference when another something like this comes along. The PIMking thread is still there.
