The hockey world kissed the Flames last year and in the summer. It's natural that will stop with the regression. The Marlies meanwhile look dominant with a lot of the Leafs draft picks.

Kudos the Marlies. Their three best players are Nylander (very good prospect), TJ Brennan (who's played in the AHL for approximately 50 years) and Mark Arcabello.

Kadri is a low life coward who deserves every slash that comes his way. Threaten to kill somebody because they made you look like an idiot. Guy should be in jail. He's been a crybaby throughout his short pathetic career.

That list is very arguable. You're just going by their leading scorers. You did not mention Connor Brown, Soshinikov, Leivo, Hyman, Leipsic, Kapanen. Many would have a lot more points if they were not called up. (Because they are legit prospects).

Afraid? Probably not - Kadri is reasonably tough, as I have seen him fight. Why not answer the bell then?
You rock any of the smaller skilled guys league wide, and you expect a teammate to respond like Jooris did. At least Jooris had enough character to at least try and pick him up in order to fight him, rather than just start pummeling him. Good on Jooris for showing some class, to a player who has shown absolutely no class thus far in his time in the league.
Kadri is simply one of the little rats in this league, similar to other guys like Burrows, Kesler, and Lappy (who is out of the NHL now). It was just simply wonderful the first game seeing him get laid-out, then acting like a complete punk of a jack-ass, and watching him get laid out again (and again) as he tries to get retribution on Giordano. I will tell you one thing - Giordano wouldn't have pretended he was shot and laid down on the ice in that embarrassing fashion if Kadri challenged him.
Gaudreau and his 67 flex intermediate stick must have broken Kadri's femur by the looks of it.

No way that 2013 Leafs team makes the playoffs with a full 82 game slate. They just didn't have a chance to do their usual two month collapse to end the year.
|
...They saved THAT collapse until the last (playoff) game of their season instead.(Which was better than them missing playoffs altogether, IMO.)

Be interesting to see how the Leafs are looking for next season and what the expectations are. However far along they are in the rebuild, they are in a unique situation that allows them to do things that other organisations can't. I mean, how much money are they paying to players that don't play for them? Horton, Robidas, £1.2m retained on Kessel for the next 6 years.
Very few other organisations can afford to pay so much money for perma injured/injury prone players. Maybe they aren't far behind the Flames in the rebuilding stakes, but thats only because of their superior budget.

Man, if the Leafs organization was as awesome as they are in BigTuna's tiny little head you'd think they would have made the playoffs more than once in 10 years or so, or maybe even won a Stanley Cup sometime in the last 50 years.

Yes, they do have some advantages regardless of cap. That said they will be without a doubt the #1 prospect pool in the entire NHL after the June draft.

yes cause every other teams young players are good enough to play in the nhl. You want to compare the players to the flames side by side?
Bennett>Nylander
Brodie>>Rielly
Hamilton>>gardiner
Giordano>>marincin (lol)
Gaudreau>>>Marner
Monahan>>>kadri
andersson/kylington>>> any of the leafs d prospects.
U can do the same for every team. the leafs do have the #1 prospect pool but thats because most other teams young players are in the pros. If u compare the leafs young players to other teams young players they are one of the worst teams in the league

Why are you comparing players like Gaudreau to Marner?
And BTW, Rielly is 4 years younger than Brodie and is so much better at the same age as TJ was. Rielly's overall stats look fantastic for a guy who just turned 22. He's playing some of the hardest minutes in the NHL.

The way I see it they shouldn't have jumped Kadri. It was a clean hit, no charge, no elbow, right on the chest. For the game to have integrity it should go both ways, do not enjoy our players jumping a guy on a clean hit no matter who it is (ok Ribeiro is an exception, fata that guy).
