So in this analysis we ignore Monahan's last season's 30 goals / 60 points, Selke votes, because...reasons?
This tells me all I need to know about said analysis.
If you objectively ask around, you likely get the sense that Barkov has a slight edge defensively while Monahan has a slight edge offensively. But they are very comparable players and both still have a lot of growing to do.

Well the fact is that say the Leafs offer Stamkos $10 million/season and the Lightning offer him $8.5 million/season he will make more net money on the Tampa offer. There's two angles here in that if he wants the notoriety of being one of the highest grossing NHL players then the Toronto offer is better but if he wants to make the most net money then the Lightning deal is better. Also the Lightning can offer that 8th year that no other team can.

As EE said, Stamkos will make more money on $8.5M in Tampa than he would $10M in Toronto. His tax exposure in Ontario is 48.43% versus 37.78% in Florida. So on Tampa's offer of $8.5M per, he takes home $5.2887M. In Toronto he has to make $10.25M per to come close. If he were smart, which he probably isn't, he'd take the Tampa offer. Unless Dallas or Nashville comes knocking there isn't a better place to earn your money than in Florida.

Yeah, probably just as many endorsement opportunities in Florida as there are in Toronto for a hockey player as well.
If it's money he's after, and while I'm sure he's not hurting for endorsements as is, the second he signs in the center of the hockey-universe they'll try to make him the face of hockey.

Are you factoring in the US$ to CDN$ exchange? if the CDN $ is at $0.75 he would make more on the TO deal wouldn't he since all players are paid in US$?
8.5M US at todays exchange ($0.71) is 11.9 million canadian

Stamkos is already third in the league in endorsements, trailing only Crosby and Ovechkin. I doubt he picks up many more major endorsements in Toronto. He already has deals with Bauer, Nike, EA and Tissot. Think he's going to supplant Crosby as the spokesman for Bell Canada or Tim Hortons? How much is that worth anyways? The difference between Crosby and Stamkos for endorsements is less than $2M. By the way, of the top 10 players earning endorsements, not a single one of them is based in a Canadian market.

Exchange rate is irrelevant. Players all get paid in US dollars and taxed accordingly. You can do the math with the exchange rate, and then tax that, but when you convert it back for a head to head comparison the result will be the same. Well, with the exception of the fees to do the conversion (This is irrelevant as well, and only making a point about conversion).

Stamkos is surely killing it in endorsements. Other posters in other threads have rightly pointed out that endorsement dollars for NHL players do not form a high percentage of their earnings, but with how often Stamkos is on TV because of Powerade and Nike, I have to think he is already among the most highly endorsed hockeys in the world, even without the overexposure of TO.
*EDIT* errrr... What New Era said...
