I have heard J-Bo as being part of trade bait a few times on this thread and many say that he wouldn't waive to go there. But who knows ? J-Bo doesn't seem to let too much phase him and seems fairly indifferent most times, so maybe he wouldn't mind. He could get out of the intense Canadian market where he is always under the microscope with much scrutiny and go to a place that doesn't seem to have high expectations and a US market where many don't even care about hockey. He probably wouldn't mind getting out of the spotlight here and hide there. Plus, he can enjoy all that New York has to offer and not get bugged much in public because practically no one would recognize him.

Depends on the team. PK Subban's agent said on the radio, that he wants to be dealt to Philly or Toronto.
If I'm Montreal, I don't want to make either of those franchises stronger, but I'm not against sending PK to LI.

I think JBo would be a lot more willing to waive than some people are suggesting
there is little chance he is enjoying his experience in Calgary these days

Didn't we go through this JayBo to LI dream several months ago, just before the NHL draft when the isles shopped their 1st round pick?
The isles are the last team in the league, who'd acquire the overpaid, soft JayBo.

His girlfriend lives here. I'm sure he likes it here plenty.
I get the vibe that he doesn't care/is oblivious of people hating him here so much.

Yea i read an article a month ago about how much Bouw and his wife love living in Calgary. They just had a kid near the end of December. They like hiking in the mountain ranges and they have family in town and visiting all the time from Edmonton.
For him to accept a trade mid season would probably have to come from a team he really wants to play for. I doubt NY Island is what he would have in mind, at least mid season. He would probably be open to more places during the summer when he can move his whole family.

Parenteau?? He plays in colorado. As for players I would take from the isle. Tavares for sure moulson no thanks he is just riding tavares' coat tails, street is too injury prone and the flames have 3 d men better then him. Okposo maybe... I think bouw and Horak for nino should get it done. They need to add something to that roster for there move to Brooklyn. They are going to want to win some games to attract fans. If not cammy and wotherspoon.

Any trade is going to have to include Max Reinhart and another body and/or 2/3 round draft pick (depending on the entire deal). Don't fool yourselves, no players have the islanders as a destination in a limited NTC or will waive their NTC to go to the islanders. But Reinhart would be a player the Islanders would have interest in.

I think you are seriously overvaluing Nino.

I really don't think the isles would have any interest in JayBow, well at least his salary anyway. I think a deal around Stempniak and maybe Butler + prospect could get it done.
This is the islanders though so maybe we could convince them that they owe us something, they might just give Nino to us...

He has $6.8 million reasons not to give a crap about what some Flames fans think of his play. You can see from his demeanor that he's one of those guys that doesn't have a lot of concerns.

If we could pack Bowmeester into some package for Nino then it's a great deal.

I doubt the Islanders will cave and trade the player.... rather they will work with the agent to see what can be done to get the player to remove his trade demands....
As for a trade idea....I would think the Islanders have plenty of prospects.... Flames could offer a player like Butler (mentioned above) with a draft pick (4th).

I don't know if I would trade Gaudreau for Niederreiter either.
Gaudreau has certainly improved his position from where he was drafted. I have no problem speculating that if the draft were re-done, he would be a 2nd rounder.
Niederreiter seems to have gone the other way. I think he'd still go in the 1st round, but maybe out of the top 10. Based on trajectory, I think Gaudreau has a chance of surpassing him at some point.
Neiderreiter is probably still the safer of the 2, but Gaudreau is the type of talent worth rolling the dice on IMO.

By "hating him here" I assume/hope you're referring to CalPuck, because out in the real world amongst the majority of Flames fans I've met, most people are disappointed in his offensive production, but there's no where near the level of over-the-top hatred that's displayed by the usual posse of Bouwmeester haters that show up in every thread here.

The morning show were just speculating on trade scenarios for Niederreiter.
I was driving, so not sure I've got this 100%, but they were throwing out something along these lines:
J Bo, Brodie, 3rd for Niederreiter and presumably some other salary
1st + Brodie
Niederreiter for Gaudreau straight up
I don't really like any of them - I would not be very happy on any trade that involves our 1st this year. I understand you play to win and don't plan on the 1st being all that low, but it is too risky to trade a potentially very low pick, especially when we don't have a second.
The first suggestion is completely unrealistic- The islanders are going to want a first or a first round prospect in return (or someone that has shown Gaudreau's potential). They can easily go elsewhere if the Flames aren't willing to give one up, and I don't see how they can. I can't imagine not having a 1st and a 2nd, or a 2nd and a 3rd in this years very good draft.

Those are all overpayment for a young player that may or may not pan out into a top line NHL player. It's reasonable to expect the Islanders possibly sending another contract back if Bouwmeester is involved but adding Brodie is too much.
