I was on Breakfast Television earlier this year... I am a good sledge hockey player, apparently...

I was in the Calgary Herald for an article on future Olympian training at WinSport.

I WISH I was an Olympian....

Got to party with Mos Def & Crew when he was at Flames Central a few years ago. I was working at a restaurant just down the alley from FC and to make a long story short, my coworker and I smoked weed with the guy who was the opening act who took us backstage.
At that same restaurant met Jeremy Piven, Jarome Iginla, and Anthony Bourdain...who stayed until we closed and had some drinks with us. Cooked dinner for, though never met, Lars Ulrich.
And perhaps one of the most annoying experiences, at a fine dining restaurant I used to work at, we got to cook dinner for George W.

My daughter auditioned for a part in a Brad Johner video; didn't get the part, but we ended up at Ranchmans with him, his wife and crew. Great people.

She (my daughter) was an extra in Brokeback Mountain.
What the hell, might as well add a plug for her too....

I'm related to Paul Gross through marriage.

Oh yeah.... and I'm "that truck guys' wife".

It was the summer of 06 if I recall correctly. I can't remember what movie I was at, but this horrible trailer was playing in front of it.

Watch it for the buildup and wait for the money shot at 2:25-2:32ish.

The theatre was packed and at the perfect moment right after the money shot, I don't know what came over me but I stood up and yelled out at the top of my lungs

"YEEESS!!!! #### Yeah!! Yeah!!"

The crowd pop rivaled Gelinas' OT goal against Detroit.

People were still laughing over 5 minutes later. When laughs would die down someone else in the theatre would start laughing again and it went like that for a few minutes.

It was the greatest moment of my life. It's been all downhill since then.

I was the male bilingual host of the Jilin Province Spring Festival Celebration last year. It was broadcast both provincially and nationally here in China. I was recognized a few times for that when I still lived up north. I have also appeared on billboard advertisements in big cities across China. Apparently some of them as much as ten stories in size. Also, I've been in a TV advertisement here in China and I've been on TV in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan for some interviews I've done.

I've been interviewed by CBC (tv and radio), CTV, and the Herald on urban things (the Bow building, Peace bridge).

Oh and the mayor knew who I was from my postings on Skyscraperpage when I first met him a few years ago at a city council meeting.

- I once got a blowjob in the stairwell of the Belvadere Hotel in New York City from some random Pittsburgh kindergarten teacher that I met that night. A bellhop walked in, saw me, gave me the thumbs up and left.

- Just this past year I won a trip for 4 to the Superbowl through Castrol. It included a private, all first class charter, hotels, spending money, exclusive tailgate party etc. I met Doug Flutie as his band was the entertainment at our tailgate party. I was pretty drunk by this point.

Funny, I was classmates with both Naheed and Ezra. Naheed in junior high and Ezra in high school. A couple stories:

Naheed and I were part of a 3 or 4 member "problem solving club". We competed in a city or province-wide problem-solving competition where we were given one or two current issues and basically had a fixed time to brainstorm ideas. Our handwriting was terrible, and the office secretary had to type up our response. The resulting submission was almost unreadable - one of our proposed solutions was "mak it lee avalibilee" (make it less available) which we'd quote as an inside joke for a while afterwards. Amazingly, we did pretty well and moved on to the finals. I didn't participate though (I think it was a scheduling conflict) and our team ended up not doing so well. I'd like to think it was my absence, but really, I had no clue what was going on the whole time. Naheed, even back then, was really in his element.

Ezra blew our whole class away in our history classes. I had never met anyone with his level of debating skill/knowledge of world events before. Even then, he was unabashedly right-wing, which came out in two very memorable class projects. The first was in support of Western Separatism, highlighted by its title "What Price Alberta?". I had never seen rhetoric like this before, and could only think "where's the verb"?. The second project was his detailed comparison between the (then) impending collapse of the Soviet Union and the fall of the Roman Empire, which included the insight that the destruction caused by rampant alcoholism in the Soviet Union mirrored the deaths by lead-poisoning in the Roman Empire due to their use of lead in their pipes and/or cookware. Agree or disagree, he was always entertaining.

My biggest thrill has been broadcasting Roughneck games from the Ed Whalen booth at the dome.

I also co-hosted a radio program with Ezra Levant and Danielle Smith.

One more, played pool with Tara Slone back in her Joydrop days before their concert in a St. Catherines. I invited her back to my place after the show. I am sure she was humouring me by pretending to be interested before saying that she couldn't because they had another gig the next night somewhere....it was still cool for 2nd year University me.

I used to go to a lot of shows at The Black Lounge at the university in '92, '93 and '94. We'd often see Placebo, the lead singer of which is better known now as Feist. My claim to fame would be in '93 at a Smalls show in the Mac Hall Ballroom I put Feist on top of the mosh pit and managed to grab a bit of ass at the same time.

Are we sure all of these claims to fame are the truth. I've been tempted to scream BS a couple of times.

You can't say this and not call a couple of them out, then the thread gets real interesting!
