Through A-Channel's TV show, The Big Breakfast, I won waaay too many morning contests with my odd and often outrageous and totally unbelievable emails to their question of the days.
I won:
-Robosapien
-Trip for two to Fairmont Jasper Lodge
-A 14 volt wireless drill
-A package of 13 chick flicks and Turin Olympic scarf (that one was on valentine's day, I recall--I only wanted the scarf)
-Basket of Cadbury chocolate samples when they came out with a new line

Eventually they instilled a one winner per month policy, and I honestly think it was because of me.
One time, at Hamilton Airport, I took a pee standing next to the Mayor of Saskatoon.
I can one up you. At a Flames game a couple of years ago in the 300s I took a piss flanked by Peter Mahr and Rob Kerr. They were having an in-depth hockey conversation with me right in the middle.
I was a Telus Cup Finalist. I have also played with and against players such as Jordan Eberle and Tyler Myers among other future NHLers. Pretty cool thing to look back on later on in life!
I was also ranked in the top 3 nationally in bilingual debate in High School.
i won the labatt blue ultimate jetaway for the winter olympics in salt lake city. me and a guest were flown to toronto, where we took the raptors charter jet to salt lake city. we got some spending cash and lots of beer and food. that night we attended the tragically hip private concert at the university of utah, then shuttled to the airport for a long flight back to toronto. the 24 hr trip was amazing and happened way too fast.
My great uncle was one of only two Canadians to volunteer to go to Korea, well before it was mandatory. Oddly enough, I met a nephew of the other guy not even two weeks ago.
My cousin, who is the closest thing to a brother to me is in the credits of both the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises. He's currently on Dragon Age 3 after finishing up ME3. And yes I asked him what the hell happened on Dragon Age 2 and what's up with the ending of ME3 and no I can't tell you what he said.
I was on TV once, as part of the Calgary delegation to the Canada First Robotics tournament, we were on the A-Channel Breakfast Show to demonstrate it.
I guess I have a few claims to fame:
- I and my scout group white-hatted Marc Garneau (back when he was an astronaut, not a politician)
- I've been on TV several times, including being interviewed for 2 different morning shows (though none of the appearances relate to my actual areas of expertise)
- My team won "best delegation" at the Model UN, edging out teams led by Naheed Nenshi and Ezra Levant.
- My name is listed as an author on several of the documents that basically tell people in my field how to do their jobs.
Despite all this, outside my own specialized field I am not famous at all.
