[QUOTE=Yeah_Baby;3363421]I've said it earlier but it bears repeating. Pat sounds like he hates Bryn, like he wants to smack him. QUOTE]
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Pat sounds like he has a genuine dislike for Bryn. It's not just a 'let's be disagreeable because it makes for good radio.'
In the morning, Walker and Boomer disagree but obviously get a long.
FAN 960 in the afternoon with Bryn and Pat is cringe-worthy. Break up that tandem.

Vanilla Steinburg is just that. He gets the job done, but not noteworthy otherwise. I've given Bryn more time and am worse for it. He's not good, boardering on unlistenable. I have some experience in radio and could comfortably place myself into that spot and outshine both of them. Mind you, radio pays 3 boxes of craft diner a week. I have much finer taste. Kelly kirsch does not, however he is loyal and sticks by his guys, to a fault.
Sorry bryn, you suck.

bryn is unlistenable, he panders to all his guests and when he does say something first he usually gets shut down. walker and him need to be moved to the weekends perhaps from midnite to 4am. they are both horrible in my opinion. Pat is good, needs someone with him though. Boomer and rhett should just have the mornings to themselver. walker brings everything down. cmon kirsch you used to have a great station, now its boarderline. step your game uop

I don't have a TV so I've been listening to most of the Flames games on the radio.
I agree with what most posters have said about Bryn Griffiths - unprepared and unprofessional. His
incompetence contrasts shaprly with the former Flames host, the finely-tuned-for-radio Rob Kerr.
I know there are mixed reviews out there for Rob but wouldn't it be great if SN just reversed all the changes it made in the summer?
Kerr back as the radio host and Loubo (who I now miss as the PBP guy) for TV?
If that ever happens, it'll be some kind of mea culpa for Rogers Sportsnet.

It just goes to show how little knowledge he actually has so he just over-emphasizes the narrative behind a player/team to ridiculous levels.
It took two segments for Bryn to go from "well, this is how I might have voted when I was voting on these awards" to actually saying what he would have done. He was wrong in the end, but at least back your opinion.

Bryn with his man love for Messem over Cornish who had an outstanding season. Going from back up to Starter 1/2 way through the season.
Lets face it Bryn would choose Messem for 1 reason he wears Green and Yellow.
Pat shot down every stupid poor excuse Bry came up with. To the point that Bryn said ya but whoever wins the award makes the playoffs. What?
At that point Pat said just that What?!
The Stampeders did make the playoffs etc and shortbus replied
well you know... Edmonton finished with the better record.
Pat said something close to are you serious since when has that mattered in voting?
I switched stations after shortbus's putrid no mind next comment.
welllll the Eskimos won the 3 game series.
Eskimos and Stamps 22pts
Bryn's Eskimo Manlove
1057 yds on 195 carries
6 TD
5.4 ypc
248 yds recieving
0 TD
Cornish
863 yds on only 119 carries
9 TD
7.3 ypc
385 yds recieving both had 18 receptions
2 TD
Being that Cornish was the back up untill week 12 if he had the same amount of carries as Messem, Cornish would have 1423 yds.
Pat made all those points and Bryn dismissed them all saying stats don't tell whole story.
Really a sports radio guy is going ignore the stats?
Bryn proved that he is the troll of 960.

Funny, i heard that and saw it the exact opposite. Pat seems to disagree with Bryn on certain points (every point more like it) just for the sake of disagreeing- when he gives his counterpoint to Griffith's opinion, it often seems to be the exact same opinion but simply reworded. Generally speaking, steinberg seems to be much more of an optimist/apologist with the Flames, but Griffiths is the opposite

Listening to the Fan right now.
Bryn just did an impression of Ed Whalen that was spot on. I was not paying close attention until he started impersonating Whalen and I nearly fell out of my chair.

I've said this in other threads, but I'll repeat it here (it's abundantly obvious the Fan producers and on air talent read this forum). Bryn was never given the proper time to work on his knowledge of the home teams (why we keep bringing in people from Edmonton is beyond me), and I agree he's become a complete train wreck hosting the pre-game. He hasn't got the ability to fill segments with his opinions, or the flow to report news from around the sporting world.
I worry for the survival of the station with the talent they're able to attract right now. A mid 20's statistician and retired hockey-player are the two most enjoyable personalities in their entire line-up.

I've never met Bryn and I'm sure he's a great guy, but I have to admit I'm not a fan of his work on the FAN960. He seems to only serve as an irritant, constantly trying to stir the pot, and looking at the Flames and Stamps from an outside perspective. Steinberg seems to get genuinly pissed at him, and it doesn't come accross as playful banter....more like "Bryn, you're an idiot, why are you here?".
IMHO it would be great if the FAN could get more of the many good national sportsnet reporters to contribute on a more regular basis. Hell, Id prefer Eric Francis at this point.

Haha sadly one of those segments took up my commute home. One guy can't come out and say i would have voted a certain way and the other keeps disagreeing no matter what and asking the same question.
There's no wonder why this station has completely plummeted in the ratings over the last year or so. Especially when bits like this eat up entire segments of air time.

Its intolerable to be quite honest. Bryn can be abrasive to the point where you potentially agreed with him originally but now have to turn on him because he doesn't stop. Steinberg comes off as a know it all twerp that goes out of his way to disagree and argue every little detail.
I'm not sure if they're playing this up to make it more interesting but whatever it is, its not working for me as a listener.

Happy or unhappy, if your talking about him that's all talk radio cares about. Or any other media for that matter. Is Eric Francis worshipped by all. No hated by most, but enjoys a great deal of success. Our whining changes nothing. In fact, the more passion either way just solidifies his status.

I don't know if that is the case. Bryn came on and now I don't listen to sports talk anymore. Makes me sad it used to help pass my afternoons at work but now I am rediscovering my Itunes collection. I don't think they want to drive too many people away. The idea is to increase market share, but soon they will be down to the guys who just listen to sports no matter how bad.

Sorry, but this a fairly stupid way to look at it.
I don't listen to 960 anymore during the afternoons or pre game. Most here are saying the same. How is that the goal of talk radio?
