I really dont like ragging on sports personalities, but Steinberg's defensive nature and need to argue on every point with Griffths is downright annoying...

Its one thing for co-hosts to have heated arguments, but 2 guys that genuinely dont like each other is just bad radio imo.

Don't really care for him, which surprises me. When he was doing the morning show in Edmonton with Jake Daniels I actually thought he was pretty good. But hearing him here now, I think it just shines a light on how awful Daniels was that he made Griffiths sound good by comparison.

Maybe he'll get better - he seems like a nice enough guy - just lacking conviction.

Why does Bryn feel the need to interrupt everyone? Steinberg can't even finish a thought. Friedman calls in as a guest and Bryn feels the need to argue and interrupt every point. Sheesh. I wouldn't miss this guy if he was gone.

I'm sick of steinberg. He pounds on bryn for the smallest comments yet never takes a stance himself. Pat needs to get off the fence. At least bryn has an opinion and isn't afraid to speak it.

My biggest pet peeve is all of the repeat content. How do they figure they can fill space daily with "Best of" especially given the poor quality of programming throughout the day.

The last thing I want to hear in the late evening is a replay of discussion from the afternoon that includes previews of games that were already played by the time this info is repeated. In October, instead of talking about baseball on off nights, they replay the eastern feed of crappy hockey talk. Great!

Then you get to hear the same thing on the weekend that youu heard multiple times during the week.

Bryn is terrible.

THe morning guys I don't like. Boomer and Walker seem like they try to hard to act cool. It got annoying pretty quick. I don't mind Rhett.

The station has gone down hill since Richards left and is getting to the point that it is almost unbearable to listen to.

Bryn should be let go. Its not working and all he is doing is pissing off listeners.
960 should understand quickly people do not tune in to get angered by some Oiler/Eskimo honk that is relentless about his arguments about everything and any sport.

Can not stand this bucket of chum.

If I was Pat I'd get defensive with Bryn's stupidity too.

Absolutely...Steinberg is quite knowledgeable. Must be frustrating for him to have a discussion about sports with this guy. It's like trying to explain offside to my wife.

I don't know how Steinberg hasn't thrown Bryn into a headlock on air yet. The logic he uses as the basis of his opinions shows the lack of knowledge he has. Yesterday when they were discussing the voting for the CFL awards he was basically saying he "voted with his heart". Absolutely ridiculous. He is like that old guy in your office that tries to zing you with the lamest joke and everyone just sort of stares and politely chuckles. Whenever he tries to start a flame war on the radio with someone, it's just painful to listen to. I like how when that happens with Steinberg, he just gives him the crickets. I'm really starting to become disenfranchised with Rogers Sportsnet as a whole, and their complete unwillingness to listen to fans. I am sure the program directors are creeping this board all the time and must see how much the fans hate the changes. Eric Francis with his air of sports media entitlement, Kerr and his dad's suits and haircut, Bryn's oatmeal commentary on everything-I'm almost tapped out. I'll bet they see threads like this and chalk it up to any publicity being good publicity or if they are hated so much, they must strike a chord. The fact is, it's just plain unenjoyable to listen to and I find myself turning the station more times than not.

Yeah, Bryn is terrible. That CFL voting bit was so irritating. All Pat was asking was for Bryn to take a stance and he couldn't even do that. The question was simple - would you vote for Cornish? Yes or no. It's not that difficult.

Also about Flames being inconsistent. Bryn disagrees with Pat and then couldn't come up with a reason why. Awful.

The Fan's best move would be to hire *gulp* Eric Francis as his replacement. I guess Boomer could cover his Saturday night duties. Can't believe I am saying this, but he seems like the best option within Calgary.

I hate to throw guys under the bus because these guys are just making a living and radio doesn't exactly pay a lot of money but the afternoon show is underwhelming to say the least. Steinberg needs more of a Mike Richards manly type sidekick to offeset his nerdiness. I don't want to say Bryn is terrible but he and Steinberg go together like Iginla and Jokinen. It may sound like a good idea but the end result just isn't that great.

That was one of the most ridiculous segments I've ever heard on the Fan.

A sports radio station simply shouldn't be hiring idiots who pick CFL All-Stars based on "how their team did this season" and that "don't care about things like yards or touchdowns". It just goes to show how little knowledge he actually has so he just over-emphasizes the narrative behind a player/team to ridiculous levels.

It took two segments for Bryn to go from "well, this is how I might have voted when I was voting on these awards" to actually saying what he would have done. He was wrong in the end, but at least back your opinion.

That's the worst. It's like off air Steinberg yells at him for being ######ed and Bryn half asses back pedals.

Plus his arguments go as follows.

Here is my poorly thought out opinion. I fully agree with the opposite opinion and can see how it is also the right opinion but I still believe my opinion because it is what I feel my opinion is.

Steinberg is easily the most knowledgable guy left at that station, particularly on the Calgary sports scene. Bryn tries to talk Calgary sports, and has no clue. However, the worst part about it, instead of doing what new people should do and defer to their knowledgable, more experienced counterpart, he irrationally argues Steinberg with no substance whatsoever.

It's often said in debate that the one who constantly interrupts is overemotional has lost the rational battle. Thus, listening to Bryn is God-awful. Kerr and Steinberg had a much better way of arguing with one another, both had substance.

People rag on guys like Francis and Dowbiggen because they say things that some don't like or agree with, but you can't deny they're very good natural broadcasters. They have the voices for this gig, and frankly, the experience covering sports to do it as well. The only reason to have a guy like Bryn is because he's 10k a year cheaper, but what that sort of thinking doesn't account for is the extra revenue generated by a host who actually knows wtf he's talking about while having the ability to string together coherent sentences.

I'm surprised more people haven't just stopped listening all together.

The content is just awful now outside of Steinberg. He may be a giant nerd but he knows his stuff and does his research so you have to respect that. Griffiths and Walker are total morons. I am very disappointed in what the station has become, and wont miss tuning in until they take steps to improve.

I've avoided commenting because I hate to run a guy down who is trying to do his job, and its not like these guys make millions of dollars. That said I just can't bear to listen after 2pm anymore. Its partly the lack of knowledge and insight, the bad interviews and questions when there is a guest on and partly just the personality in general.

I do kind of feel bad for Bryn. I feel like he is trying too hard though, and that nervous laugh just drives me crazy. Its a tough job, without question, but he's just over-matched with Steinberg. Listening to the pre-game show and such is also a train wreck. He just doesn't have the natural relationship or comraderie with the other on air people.

I can listen to the morning show when Rhett's there, but Boomer and Walker aren't great either. Like someone else pointed out its a grown man who calls himself Boomer....I'm embarassed for him! (And that is posted on an internet site where we all have these nicknames floating around!) If it weren't for Warrener though that morning show would be unlistenable as well. Its a sad state of affairs there.
