My guess? We'll both be waiting for a while.
I actually find it rather funny how "some people" will say basically anything to try and discredit tattoo's and the people who've decided to obtain them. I find it even funnier that afc is allegedly posting in this thread to provide "advice for someone looking to get their first tattoo" when he himself has admittedly never had one! For future reference afc, most people, when asking for advice, prefer to obtain that advice from someone with first hand experience, not second hand experience. Just because some of your foster kids want silly and immature tattoos like "gang affiliations" tattooed on their arms does not mean every tattoo is silly and it certainly doesn't mean every tattoo will be regretted in time. My grandfather, who's now been dead for about 10 years, got tattoos on both forearms back in the 40's (not military tatt's btw) and unless he was lying to his entire family for his entire life, he never once regretted those tattoo's and always remembered what they meant to him, even when he was a 70 year old man.

I got a tattoo of a maple leaf when I was 18 (17 years ago) and for the past two years I've been paying $225/month, six months a year having it lasered off. I have about $2500 into removal costs and it's a subborn MFer that'll probably take another four or five laser appointments before it's gone. They've actually dropped my rate to $175 per appointment out of pity, I think.
So yeah, I have a tattoo and regret it. That $80 blemish will end up costing me a few thousand dollars to get rid of.

I like the tribal desisgns. They let me know:
1) you like tattoos and are therefore rad.
2) you are either in a tribe or have a deep understanding of tribal life. Which makes you not only rad but deep too. But deep in a you'll kick my ass if I get out of line with the tribe kind of way.

I can remember about 4 or 5 tv shows from when I was a kid, Dr Who, Blue Peter Danger Mouse and the Tommorrow People, I havnt a clue which was the most important to me at the time and I honesly struggle to see any one finding personal significance in any kids TV show, let alone T'M'N'T, I can understand liking it and thinking it is cool.
They were kids TV shows, they lose most of their significance when you have kids yourself and watch TV with your kid, I would say if you asked me to name 4 kids shows now it would be Barney, Buffy Sailor Moon and Saved By th Bell.

I wonder which type happens to be the freshly-scented bag of water?

In keeping with the general theme of this thread you should regret: 1) even thinking about having this done to yourself, 2) actually having it done and 3) posting a photo of it here (or anywhere FTM).
So, to ensure item 3 comes with insult AND injury you are also due a kick in the goolies ....

Sorry for being a thread necro,
Its almost been a year since my father passed away and I'm thinking of getting a tribute tattoo for him.
Has anyone gone to the arthouse in Kensington? I've heard things about them but any first hand knowledge would be great.

I got my tattoo done there as well as my buddy's parents. Great clean space. Relaxed environment. Just a cool shop I recommend.

I'd suggest Deadly Tattoo's (Dave Fried) by Chinook mall or Blackbird Electric tattoo (Karrie Arthurs). I have two sleeves one from Deadly and one from Blackbird, i'm very happy with both. Do your research and find an artist who's style you really like. I myself would never go to an artist who is under 160$/hr you get what you pay for.

I don't think that I would want to get a sleeve tattoo, I don't have anything in my life that's that meaningful or cool.
I would like to add to the couple of tats that I do have and get them in a more visible area.
