hmmmm bold, I agree.
Yes, yes I will, otherwise, I wouldn't have got them. I survived 7 years in the army and didn't get one. When I got mine, it was long thought out as is the second I am getting.
I think you should only be considering talking someone out of a tattoo is those that are onthe face/neck or hands, but again that's just my opinon

i want to lump you in with the jerk british guys you see at mexican resorts, but I am not going to let myself do that, because you are a pretty awesome poster other than in this thread.
btw, I have no tattoos, they would look lame on me since I am a skinny nerd.

I wasn't sure whether to thank this or not, probably will as it is a nice post all be it backhanded, that said the original poster asked for advice, this is mine, my experiance is that he will probably regret it.
This isn't buying a car or a suit, this is serious.

In many ways I can't say I disagree with AFC too much on this one. I find most tattoos to be pretty cheesy, and probably only like the art on maybe 1 in every 50 I see (ie, like some of those japanese ones someone showed, or some of the hard-core gang tattoos can be kind of bad-ass). Then again I'm the type who hates most of todays constant need for self-expression in every facet of life, and the incessant need to get all deep and show other's the so-called real you.
But at the end of the day, people do what makes them happy, so I do my best to live and let live. Sure, a good chunk of the people who get tattoos will probably end up regretting them later on, but that's alright....sometimes people need to make mistakes. In the end, I'm sure most of us regret the things we didn't do more than the things we did that didn't turn out as we hoped.
So if you love tattoos, go nuts. Some of us will probably judge you as a narcissistic try-hard with questionable taste, but who cares, do it if it makes you happy.

She probably paid off the tattoos via sexual favours, hence all the kids.

I think afc wimbledon is just seriously regretting his Count Duckula tattoo and taking it out on everybody else.

And I'm still waiting for afc to answer my question regarding his having forgotten about any and all pop culture he was exposed to as a kid.
My guess? We'll both be waiting for a while.
I actually find it rather funny how "some people" will say basically anything to try and discredit tattoo's and the people who've decided to obtain them. I find it even funnier that afc is allegedly posting in this thread to provide "advice for someone looking to get their first tattoo" when he himself has admittedly never had one! For future reference afc, most people, when asking for advice, prefer to obtain that advice from someone with first hand experience, not second hand experience. Just because some of your foster kids want silly and immature tattoos like "gang affiliations" tattooed on their arms does not mean every tattoo is silly and it certainly doesn't mean every tattoo will be regretted in time. My grandfather, who's now been dead for about 10 years, got tattoos on both forearms back in the 40's (not military tatt's btw) and unless he was lying to his entire family for his entire life, he never once regretted those tattoo's and always remembered what they meant to him, even when he was a 70 year old man.

One thing about the Internet... if you're ever new to a message board and you want to quickly weed out all the dbags, all you have to do is create a thread about something you think is cool. You'll get three types of posters: people who also think it's cool, people who don't think it's cool and people who say that you're a ###### and anyone else that thinks it's cool is also a ######.
I wonder which type happens to be the freshly-scented bag of water?

It's funny you can't even have tats on your hands, neck or arms, in the military anymore. When I was in, it was all good, but know the tattoo needs to be able to be covered up by the uniform.
