Well thought through.
How does the good doctor suppose we protect the trans people from the rapist posing as a trans person?

I appreciate the question. I do not pretend to have all the answers.
Was simply stating that M to F trans should not be in the same prison as women. For the safety of the women. Also, trans probably should not be in the same prison as males, for their safety.
I don’t know, but maybe there are ways within the prison itself that groups can be segregated (I’m sure there are?), so that safety might not be an issue. Has anyone here ever visited or worked in a prison that may know the answer?

Segregating the trans community under the guise of their own safety is quite the take, the kind of take that shows you know very little about trans rights.
Take a break, go have a beer, and step away from this topic for a few days. Come back fresh and progressive conservative after the weekend.

Segregating people for their own safety is not a bad thing. I don’t care what sex you are or what you identify as.
I know you are trying to paint me as anti-trans. I’m not anti-trans.

What danger does trans women uniquely pose to other women? What danger does men uniquely pose to trans women?

I suppose this would be the danger.

I don’t know.
I would not advocate for more rape, if I simply believed some rape existed already.

Who is advocating for more rape? Go ahead and name them if they are.
Aren’t you just advocating for the rape to get moved around? Your solution doesn’t actually solve anything.

The solution of not having m to f trans in with women prevents women from being raped by the m to f trans.

No it doesn’t. It takes your hypothetical rapist and puts them with trans people. Is it your preference that they rape a trans person instead?

I don’t think it’s unrealistic to protect women for rape.

You sure manage to have a wild way of showing it.
The onion of presuppositions required to think segregating trans persons for the safety of women and/or themselves peels away at a lot of anti-trans beliefs or rhetoric. At the core it is some variation of men will rape women in close confinement, so we must remove that risk. Given the context of this discussion, the statement I just made is unequivocally bigoted and hurtful.
You may not believe you are anti-trans, and I'll even give you the benefit of the doubt that in your heart you are not. However, what it takes to support this kind of policy is steeped in a fundamental ignorance of the trans community and experience that does real-world damage, and is something I would certainly suggest you invest more of your time towards listening and understanding.

They could even get their own areas to sit and water fountains to drink from. Just for their own safety, of course.

Except when the justification is unjust.

By trans women, you mean, since you don’t seem to care about protecting them from rape by other women prisoners or guards, nor do you seem to care about protecting men, trans women, or trans men from rape.
Your issue is very clearly not rape in the prison system or rape of women, it’s trans people, as that’s the only “issue” your “solution” addresses.
Kind of scummy.
