With Dubas making “anyone but 87” available, I wonder which teams will come knocking for Malkin? I think the cost has to be high. If Vegas wasn’t so completely drained of assets, I would think they would be an obvious choice. LA and Minnesota are good options as well I think.

I’m not sure Vladar would be claimed on waivers. A 3rd would be wizardry.
He seems to be a less than average goalie.

I’m not so sure that Crosby won’t eventually be available. Simply put he’d be public enemy #1 if he said Crosby were available. So once they get a ransom for Malkin, and some good value for Letang and Karlsson, my guess is Crosby will be dealt in a year or so. And the guess is Colorado. Malkin to LA does make sense.

They're in a playoff position right now.
It also looks like both their G's have settled down of late.
They will be given much more time to prove themselves.
Sakic is a pretty patient guy and IF he needs to make a deal, I can't see it being for a guy like Vladar anyways, whom is as average as it gets in the NHL. The Avs would look for a bigger fish IMO.

0% chance Crosby goes anywhere. He’s won everything a couple times… he will retire as a Penguin end to end.

Minimum 3 games played (65 goalies):
Vladar is 22nd in Save% and 16th in GAA
(Wolf is 16th and 37th, respectively)
It baffles me why Flames fans are so reticent to show Vladar any respect.

I don’t think they are getting a haul for Malkin at 38. Maybe a higher draft pick or decent prospect but not much more

Because he has had some of the worse stats in the NHL last season and the eye test he often looks “bad”

Yeah at this moment there is zero chance Vladar clears waivers, it shouldn't even be a discussion.

Because his body of work throughout his career is much more indicative of his abilities than 7 games this year?
Over 3 GAA and sub .900 save%
As a Flame only.... 3.12 and .891.
Since becoming a Flame and among all goalies who have played 20 or more games
74th in save%....56th in GAA
Thats just ugly.
He hasn't been very good even if he's been decent for this last month.
Maybe he keeps it going and hopefully he does. It should make the return a bit better when Conroy trades him.

Seems like a decent trade for the Pens. Move Eller, get a 3rd and a 5th. What's wrong with that?

Yeah he needs to play about 30 games this hear, and then be around a .910 on the season, then I think his market could expand a bit.
He would have seasons of
.906 - good for a rookie backup
.895 - Below average
.882 - bad but injured
.910 - good
At that point I think some team could look at him and be like "he's only really had one really bad season, we can spend a 2nd on him and maybe we re-sign him if he's good for us"

He is also splitting starts with a rookie and has worse stats. Have to hope for a Berra overpayment 2.0

Vladar healthy is average, as he has shown thus far.
He's been on par with Wolf. They had identical SV% prior to last night.
I know their styles are different but if people are liking wolf on paper then then hating on Vladar in same breath makes no sense.

Come on man, use some fn content surrounding those numbers and gauge peoples reactions accordingly

One is looking like a star. The other is trying to fend off Cooley from taking his job.

Let’s not forget that Vladar had been playing through an injury for the previous two seasons that required surgery.
