Oh, and it looks like Xur is selling TLW this week. Can't wait to try it out in the crucible.

So tried out the crucible with the new patch - what a different experience. I felt like I actually had a chance for once and I wasn't blown away in one shot whenever someone showed up on my screen.
I also tried the weekly heroic for the first time - played it matched to my level so it was a good challenge without being too hard. However, it took a few runs to get through a few checkpoints, and by the time I got to the final battle I had to quit. Does my progress get saved for how far I went? Or if I try again, do I have to start at the beginning? If my progress isn't saved I might plan my time a bit better around the heroics.
Oh, and leveled up armour last night to get to level 25 - I'm pretty happy with that!
You would have to start again.

Let me put it this way, it's like sex.
Short, leaves you wishing you had a little more self-control before completely unloading yourself but still extremely satisfying when you do it.

Hah. Nice.
But seriously....2x Fatebringer on the same Templar kill. This is unheard of, no?

Definitely possible. If you're hard mode first, you'd get 2x rolls at Hard Mode loot. In this scenario, fate bringer on the first roll and the second roll, that's RNG for you.

So with TLW, since it is so deadly at short to mid range, is the play to have a sniper for the long range and clean up in close with TLW?

TLW can hit at medium range too, you just have to control the recoil for your second shots. For me it really depends on the map, I'm usually still a shotgun guy when I use TLW. However on longer range maps your probably better suited with a sniper. I'm not super stoked xur is selling it, I find both exotic hand cannons to be overpowered.

I'm interested in trying it out. I do have Thorn already, and it is ok, but I prefer Red Death due to the heal / quick reload perk. Who knows, I might try TLW out and just go back to RD anyways.

Just waded into pvp seriously yesterday.
Seems like the only gun I have success with is tlw.
I tried using the word of crota to clear my thorn bounty that's been sitting unfinished for the last 4 months, but it takes like 4-5 head shots to kill!
I'm no where near as bad as I thought I would be in the crucible though. Sitting at .82 kdr after my first hundred kills.

I did that thorn bounty and luckily enough I had the word, swordbreaker, and corrective measure. Played rumble and played like a complete chicken. Hid in the corner, crouched as a hunter, shotgun cocked and ready waiting for the poor soul that turned the corner. Managed to stay close to the heavy so when it dropped had a 100 bullets of the measure. The word was used more to clear anyone coming from a distance as I ran to the heavy ammo...
Glad I finished it, now I get to be the THORN in everyone's side

Small moments like this make Destiny still enjoyable.
Probably a good glimpse of horde mode game play. The smooth shooting mechanics of this game really sets itself up nicely for horde mode. They really have to knock this out of the park though. Are there going to be multiple maps and leader boards? I've been out of the Destiny loop for a couple of weeks. I'll be nice and fully recharged in time for HoW!
Crucible donated me a Patience and Time last night. Also completed the Bad Juju quest line, so I have some new toys to level up!
