basically anything outside of Parekh and Wolf on the table.
Basic outline
1 of Mews or Bzru
1 of Battaglia or Gridin (or basha)
1 Roster player (I would be fine if this were Coronato, though some wouldn't. Farabee, Zary are other potential examples.)
the 2 1sts we have this year
Just want Misa bad.

Maybe I missed something but is Misa this generation’s Eric Lindros?

Also Sharks are looking to spend money in the UFA pool. I mentioned Ekblad being a target on defense in previous posts. Up front I was told Marner wouldn't be a realistic option. Guys like Ehlers, Boeser and Bennett were names thrown out.

Makes a lot of sense. After a top pairing defender, a high-end, big bodied winger is what they need.
Martone also just got called in to join Team Canada at the Worlds. Might get a sneak peak of how he looks with Celebrini before the draft, which could lock in their pick. Makes sense to me.

It depends... I would not from the flames, but it's because of how dearly we need a center.
But the Sharks have Celebrini and Smith in hand, Askarov in net. Dickinson on D coming up.
They could have one 50% shot at a 2nd line center on their roster, or, if the trade was:
Coronato+Bzrustewicz+Gridin+ 2 other later 1st round prospects... Well I think I would probably accept that.

Interestingly, Eric Lindros is one of the closest comps for U18 OHL production.
I think it's pretty outrageous that he's not the undisputed #1 pick, and would give a lot to draft him.

Can't see Coronato being the roster player. Pretty bad precedent to set for guys moving forward. "Sign long term for a pretty team friendly number and we'll trade you immediately"

Sharks sure sound like they're loaded with talent for a team that finished dead last in the league.

Zary + Gridin + Brz/Mews + 1st is a pretty massive package

Its true that it sounds crazy or unlikely at first glance, but there is a logic that few NHL GMs ever utilize.
-QC/COL traded an elite piece (Lindros) for quality depth, and won a cup soon after (yes, I know Patrick Roy makes a difference as well!).
-If EDM had traded some of their high picks for some depth, they may have actually had some success prior to last season.
The idea is that elite talent trumps everything else, but the reality is you need elite talent AND quality depth.
SJ has elite (but young) talent, but very little around the edges. Give them some quality depth players and they would rise up the standings quickly IMO.
Anderson, Coleman, Vladar, FLA 1st and a wing prospect (Honzek, Gridin, etc.) for #2.

Pretty outrageous?
I don’t think I’ve seen a list yet that has Misa above Schaffer.
Also, Lindros brought a lot more than scoring. The OHL was terrified of him and he quickly became the single most imposing blend of physicality and scoring the NHL had ever seen (or damn close to it) at that point.

Ya it would be shocking if Misa went first. He will go somewhere between 2-5.

From 94-97 he was putting up numbers like MacKinnon, McDavis, and Kucherov all in the dead puck era.

Yeah, but the package you’re suggesting is a hell of a price to pay for a player who is slated to go 2OA in a ‘good’ draft. Would Misa have gone ahead of Bédard, Celebrini or Fantili?

Which package did I suggest?
I was just commenting on how dominant Lindros was. Don't think its fair to compare Misa to him because Lindros brought much more.

We're not getting 2nd overall unless we're giving up Parekh. I just don't see it any other way. The Sharks would find value in a Dickinson / Parekh pairing down the road. Wolf would have been the other player to ask for had they not had Askarov acquired.

SJ are looking to push now, they’re stacked with young talent.
I don’t think anyone’s trading into their pick, not the flames at least.
Prospects and picks + a depth veteran isn’t going to wet their whistle.
Unless we’re offering Andersson + Parekh ++ I doubt they even pickup the phone.
Coronato isn’t being traded, so I wouldn’t add him to any proposal.
Same goes for Wolf and Parekh.
Kadri is about 95% untouchable at this point, player would have to agree to anything and both sides want him here. He wants to bring a cup to Calgary more than he wants to chase another one somewhere else.
I don’t see Calgary getting into the top 5, probably not even the top 10 at this point.
Sorry guys.

I keep seeing Vladar put into Trades. He is a pending UFA. Zero value there.

Rights have value. We acquired the rights to Elliott at the draft.

I think Peter Forsberg was more than quality depth.

Back up goalies rights have close to zero value as you can get.
Elliot was not a UFA when traded to Calgary.
