Enjoy travelling on your Alberta passport and using your Alberta Bucks. You can feel safe knowing the Alberta government is negotiating trade agreements and reviewing tariffs with other independent nation-states.

Don't forget, with separation him and his separatist buddies will also get to pay for the entirety of their new military they now have to build, and now get to deal with even more red tape in getting oil and natural gas and any pipelines to the coast... or literally, anywhere. These separatist morons don't understand the real, actual hidden costs of their narrow-minded political ambitions.

As I will say about anything this government does, on it's own I don't support it. Add BusTits, call it the "BusTits Pension Plan", and I'm fine with it (as long as I can opt out).

The amount Alberta would get seems like the most important part and is the part that I'm most skeptical of.
Would the Canadian plan give some kind of verification of what that number would be?

Frankly, the inertia of being born here is the only real reason I put up with this clown show year after year

Pseudoscience in Primary Care? Sure, ya, why not throw tax dollars away on that, too.

A pension plan is supposed to be something like the future value you receive as an old person is equivalent to all the money you contributed, plus the return on that money .
Except that for CPP silent generation and Boomers get more than they paid in and everyone younger gets less than they paid in. There's a cross generational subsidy that AB can take advantage of if they leave the system. That's why Smith can promise both lower premiums and higher entitlements.
With regards to your concern on investment mix, it's a fair criticism. But I'd suggest that CPPIB does a lot more of the mark-to-model valuations of private assets that drives their returns, which are arguably substantially detached from reality (especially as interest rates rise). And it's very clear that CPP pays huge fees, both to internal staff and external managers, which creates a lot of conflicts of interest. Between the two issues, there's something going on there that should be investigated, but no one cares because they just look at the high level returns.

Referendums are expensive. Smith should have three - an APP, Alberta police force and separation. You know she’s got her sights on all three anyway.

Everything she does is a precursor to separation, and it's pretty wild people don't see that.

Albertans have spoken and put their vote/faith in Premier Smith so let’s see how this plays out.
