You should see the rendering that the anti-LRT folks commissioned for their depiction of Sunalta Station when the West LRT was being built. Graffiti, destruction, lots of homeless people, desolate buildings, a real wasteland. None of that happened.

Hahaha, I remember those renderings. I also remember when my dad had a shop on 10th Ave that backed onto the CP line 25+ years ago, and believe me: it was not nice back there to begin with...

AHS so ####ing stupid they didn't even forward a list of affected quarantine families to other daycares, so now 6 more daycares are shut down and dozens more families in quarantine due to this governments abject failure to be competent in any way.

My kids' daycare is on that list (found out via twitter). No communication at all so far about what to do next, on which rooms, families, etc might be affected.
Looks like the news release came close to midnight....I'm sure people knew earlier. Epic, EPIC fail

Our emailed us after midnight this morning, and the Herald reported the closures.
Basically they said AHS had promised a list of affected children to be sent to all daycares since you can't trust people to do the right thing (wait until their quarantine clearance ends) but never did, so of course some ####### put their kid in one of the young kids classes and lied to the daycare about the nature of it.
10 day closure, huge daycare affected, 3 dozen families at ours alone that have to do a full quarantine. Clownshow

Got the email last night from our daycare. Did not mention a closure though. Guess we wait and see

Well that's totally shocking and unexpected. Another brilliant decision that wasted taxpayer dollars. I'm sure the fiscal Conservatives around here will be up in arms over this waste, like they were with light bulbs.

No idea, but i wouldn't be surprised to see some civil suits at the end of this.

A list of quarantine families/children? Is that even something that AHS can circulate because it would seem that health matters of that sort should be kept private by our authorities?

According to the daycare, yes this was something AHS had promised to them, to prevent something like this occurring.
The daycares would not have shared these lists publicly of course but thats moot because AHS didn't warn any daycares and the children that were supposed to be quarantined have already been attending for a week+

You mean new kids just entered the daycare and nobody thought it was suspicious?

I wouldn't be surprised if someone at AHS said that a list would be provided only to have legal or higher up Managers step in after the fact and say that isn't actually an option due to privacy concerns.
Once a list is generated and provided to an outside organization the governance becomes impossible to control and it becomes way to easy for information leaks to occur.

Glad they covered their asses then and relied on Scout's Honor not to start an outbreak.

Ya, once an e.coli outbreak amongst children occurs, you'd think containment would take priority over privacy. But it's Danielle Smith's world baby, we're just living in it.

I’m sure she’s trying to source some ivermectin for them.

Seems weird to be upset at AHS and not the loser parents. AHS dropped the ball on not shutting down the kitchen but I’d be hard pressed to blame them for not sharing a list of kids.

I am a parent and my brother got severe e.coli as a young kid.
I won’t share stories here as its not helpful right now, but if you have a kid in daycare and can pull them out for a while do it. This isn’t a cold, flu, foot and mouth, pox. Its as severe as it gets. Trust me.
Also at home please everyone get a good digital thermometer and check your food to guidelines before you feed your kids. Err on side of caution and overcook. Its just not worth the chance.

There’s equal blame for the daycare and parents and AHS for dropping the ball here. This whole situation is where we need more red tape and bureaucracy, not less.

Yeah why would we be mad at the government dept rendered toothless to enforce quarantine orders that can seriously harm children because they don't want to hurt the fee-fees of a bunch of antiscience weirdos
