Seems like one of the microservices that may have been blocking movie uploads and copyright strikes was turned off. People are uploading complete movies to Twitter.

This has been good in some cases as I've seen some good documentaries and also longer Ukraine War Videos.

I’d say there’s about a 98% chance it’s the latter and that if there is some truth to it, it’s probably accidental.

Even just following the logic, Twitter has reduced it’s staff by something like 90%? Including the entire content moderation team? So who is suddenly identifying these un-named hashtags and clearing out the content?

I don't remember ever having seen the option to select for child sexual exploitation as part of the report process when I've used it before. Maybe I've just never noticed it when previously reporting tweets, but it is there now. If it is actually a new addition that would at least indicate that a conscious choice is being made with implementation being undertaken by some people still there to pay attention to that stuff, which would be a good thing regardless of what conspiracy theories may be associated with it.

I’m not whining about anything, just adding context. Most of the reporting on it seems to be from sources that are sub-reputable and within the conspiracy theory/alt right sphere, or serve primarily as Elon hype machines (which I’m sure you love). So again, there might be truth to it, but you’re unlikely to find an accurate picture from that source.

Sorry it doesn’t follow neatly behind your forced “Elon is a genius billionaire who is the greatest business owner” narrative. Not everyone cares as much as you do about what his boots taste like.

Agreed, though the child exploitation reporting function has been there for at least 2 years.

Zero proof in what she's saying other than some hashtags existing. Seems like one of those theories where people were taking part in child trafficking on Wayfair.com by searching for a secret code and ordering the product.
