I hate this take.
Those players weren’t gifted anything. That was a rag tag group of players that punched above their weight all season.
People make it seem like they were gifted an elite roster. Their first line Center was a guy with 18 career goals coming into this season - and he ended up scoring 41.
A great story and a completely unexpected season by Vegas. Anybody who says it was “a gift me a contender” is wrong and is downplaying the individual effort and improvement every player on that roster made.
Nobody on earth thought the cup would be presented in Vegas this year, and even if they didn’t end up winning it that was a monumental effort.
