It's almost like another language and when you first start out, it's damn near impossible to decipher. You pick it up after awhile though. I suppose you get used to the voices of the people you work with, also a lot of codes or jargon is used.

Ya fair enough. I guess they aren't sitting around eating breakfast. 
I think they just listen for key words and put it together. If not I've heard a few "can you repeat that?" and maybe it gets easier the more you listen to it.
What I want to know is with all those police out there and information flying around how is there ever silence and/or people not talking over each other all the time.

Just watching the uncle of CNN, pretty heartbreaking. He really seems to love the USA and is so embarrassed and ashamed. Poor guy to be dragged into this.

Watching online gets a bit boring really. A whole lot of nothing repeated over and over. Might as well just pick up details on CP and go to a feed if it gets interesting.

Suspect in the white hat is still out there. He was involved with the shootout last night. Apparently drove over his dead brothers body to get away.
There is an older guy with a "vest" laying in the middle of a street with EOD working on it.
They have asked for EOD and K9 to come to another location.
Media is being asked to come into building. Press conference?

The news streams (nbc, cbc, abc, fox) are just repeating same things over and over. The real news is on the scanners.
There are now 4 robots working on the guy with the device! They need help from the robot making company apparently.

I won't repeat the address (and sounds like this person knows the police are there) but they are outside a location waiting for EOD to arrive. Police arrived and the door was open and "Arab looking" male had looked outside.

No idea...MetroBoston SOPS-4 is what it says.
My understanding is the police walked up to a yellow house and the front door was open. When they walked up they saw a male peer out the window. At that point I heard them call for EOD. And it sounded like the same guy who asked for the EOD told others they were just waiting for EOD before entering.
Could be nothing but understand why they wouldn't be walking into any buildings without help.
