That's a relief. I thought "keep icing the puck and you'll be fine" was a metaphor that was going over my head.

I came across a Blackhawks board today that was really complaining about Bolland. They don't think he has stepped up enough to be their #2 center. I think he's a great player & exactly the sort of guy I'd trade for in a retool. Cap-wise for Chicago we could swap Cammy straight-up for him.

So if comes down to 1st/Koko/B prospect and 1st/McNeill/B Prospect, which package do you take?

Koko...much more skill, but riskier with the russian factor.
Flames already have 3 prospects who can potentially play the 3rd line shutdown centre role in Reinhart, Arnold, and Deblouw.

Koko. McNeill is Nemisz. Koko is likely better than that.

I'd much rather trade Iginla for picks or high risk/high reward prospects than a 2nd line guy who'll by 27 by the end of the season. Getting Bolland does seem like the type of re-tool move that the Flames would be interested in if they want to be competitive next year, but that would end up making the team no better than we are now.

So Iginla may or may not have submitted a list of teams he would go to.
Who's saying ownership is willing to trade him? Ownership has said through and through that they want Iginla to be a apart of this team. Unless Iginla has requested a trade or we are getting a spectacular return he does not go anywhere.

Koko is an undersized centre. Few can play centre at his size in the NHL.

Then switch him to the wing. Flames are going to need more than just Sven and Gaudreau anyways.
I'm pretty resigned to the fact the Flames aren't going to get a no. 1 centre for Iginla. Their best chance is to draft one themselves. Hopefully they can land one of Mackinnion, Barkov, or Monahan at the draft.
I think Koko is a pretty good piece to go along with a late 1st rounder. If they can get another good prospect, that should be sufficient.
You really can't expect a franchise players in exchange, but you can try and acquire a bunch of complimentary and good players to supplement your future franchise players.

Nearly think its time for an all new cast. It would be difficult to right the collective defeated attitude.

I find myself thinking the same thing more and more. Franchise needs a thorough cleansing.

I think an Iggy trade might be announced tonight. I just hope the results mean a longtime Flame player who's half as good as him.

I think ownership kills the speculation instead of letting this dominate everything around the team
I am afraid they won't like the return and hold onto him.
