It’s pretty much the exact same.
1st + recent former 2nd + depth pick.
We gave up a 1st + Heineman + Pitlick + a 5th I believe

Larkin + Lindholm, Seider + Edvinsson
I do that trade. That's a top-10 pick in this draft, and that should absolutely be the target when it comes to a Lindy trade.
Toffoli trade:
That's 30th, 31st, or 32nd Overall this year + 2024 3rd rounder + 2022 52nd overall LW right-shooting Dmitri Buchelikov
I do that trade.
Both of those Detroit proposals seem good to me.

Yeah agreed on the Lindholm front for sure, especially after those non committal comments on garbage bag day. Turning Lindholm into a top-10 pick ++ which would likely be used to draft a Center.. that's exactly the kind of deal I want this team to make and it's another reason why I hope we don't wait until the deadline next season to move our assets.
The 2023 draft is where you want to be drafting. Also it would set our rebuild/retool ahead by a year instead of waiting until 2024.
I'd be perfectly fine with the Toffoli trade as well.

I am curious what the Rags do if they don’t go deep. They are built to win now. I wonder what they would think of the following package
Lindholm at 50% - 2.425
For
Kakko
Money is basically a wash (Rags take on 325K). They get the much better player for one year though and the Flames get a potential very good young forward for awhile.

I don't think you get a top 10 pick for a pending UFA.

Yeah, we went through this last TDL. The teams that want a guy like that are contenders. Hence, not top 10 picks. I suppose Hanifin might be the exception.

True, but if a team (like Detroit) wanted Lindholm badly enough, and they don't want to bid against virtually every other team in the league at the deadline, and they get the impression that re-signing him isn't a big hurdle then a trade isn't out of the question involving a 1st rounder IMO.
I think that adding Lindholm for at least one season + re-signing him for the long-term could be looked at as worthy of a 1st round pick. It'd be a pretty ballsy move obviously, so probably more likely to happen for one of their lower 1st's.
At the end of the day it's only a speculation trade, but it's pretty exciting to think of what that return could look like for Lindholm and other upcoming UFA's.
Detroit having 3 first round picks does make me think that they are a good trading partner for us this summer though, if we start moving assets out.

Lindholm at 50% retained better get a lot more than Kakko straight up. Better also include Brennan Ohtmann and a pick.

You're getting roughly what the Canucks got for Horvat, so you're not even getting Kakko.

A top 10 pick is a dream IMO. Try to add a future first rounder to a mid first round pick this year. That would be nice.

Correct. Young kids on cheap contracts cost controlled rfas are worth much more than older players heading to UFA

I'm supremely bummed about Lindholm wanting out.

I'd take a Raty type prospect ant time.

Coronato was played at center this year.
Will be in need of at least one skilled center when next offseason rolls around.

Lindholm would be a smart pick up for Boston to continue their window

Especially if you allow them to negotiate with him (likely not happening).
I would push for Zacha plus Lysell myself. Zacha had a great year and is a versatile LW/Center. He is big and adds speed which we do lack within the line up.
Boston doesn't have a first until 2025 so even then I don't know what else I would want from them that makes sense for both parties.
