"Red Wings 2023 Off-Season Trade Targets"
Article from the Hockey Writers, I know it's just speculation but the idea of Detroit parting with 1 of their 3 first-round picks in the 2023 draft seems to make alot of sense when you look at how close they were to making the playoffs this season and they need help in their top 6.
Speculation/Proposed Trade in the article:
Toffoli to Red Wings in Exchange for:
2023 1st Round Pick (Boston), 2024 3rd Round Pick, Prospect Dmitri Buchelikov.
Lindholm to Red Wings in Exchange for:
2023 1st Round Pick (Detroit's own pick), 2023 2nd Round Pick, Prospect Carter Mazur.
I've never heard of either of those prospects so I can't really state my opinion if these would be fair deals but I'd be pretty interested in adding another 1st this summer and Detroit does seem like a reasonable trading partner, thoughts?

Mazur seems like a decent prospect. I know the Wings were pretty high on him and just signed him.
I'd do both of those trades.

Grubbe was a reach in the third round and probably isn't worth losing much sleep about.

Was gonna ask why this guy wasn't drafted but Google was my friend. Yikes. Waved a banana and used racial slurs in front of his black teammate in Seattle for those that didn't know.

Ooof. Never mind then.
This story has him included in the rankings for 2023 though. He's 19, so he's re-eligible. We'll see if anyone bites. I guess he was made to take training on the issues, so a team might claim he deserves a second chance a la Montreal/Mailloux. The fact he wasn't drafted in 22 suggests otherwose though.

I bet he goes undrafted and then some team will PTO him, and during said PTO he will tell his redemption story, and get siogned to an AHL deal.

C Jayden Grubbe 6'3"201lbs (Red Deer, WHL): When Brent Sutter names a guy his Captain, you know that player is a leader, is hard-working, plays the game with energy in all 3 zones, and does things the right way. The Captain of the Rebels is Calgary-born Grubbe. This year, his season was limited to 5 games due to a season-ending knee injury, and in that span, he put up only 3pts in 5 games. In 2019-20, he had 6g/23a/29pts in 57 games. Grubbe is indeed a gritty, competitive, and skilled power forward, who plays with urgency.
I just watched a shift-by-shift video of his, and I can confirm that this kid is a very good skater for a guy his size. He has good acceleration and separation speed, and his edges look good too. He has an impressive motor, and is dogged in his puck pursuit. Makes opponents pay with his physicality-drags the troops into battle by initiating physical play. His intimidating presence causes trouble at both ends of the rink. Watching him, he hits to make a point, and you don't want to be hit by him again.
Grubbe can drive his line's offensive play, and can dictate the game's pace and zone play. He's a crafty puckhandler, with good hands in tight. Goes to the net with enthusiasm. He's a leader in all 3 zones, and has a good understanding of the C position-he takes away the middle very well. Plays in all situations, including the PK. Very hard worker who wins 50/50 battles.
With Grubbe, there's plenty of uncertainty-only 7 goals in two seasons, and one of those cut short by a knee injury. Those are things that hurt a kid's draft status. He needs to continue working on his skating, particularly his explosiveness, and his on-ice discipline-he can fly off the handle now and then. He also needs to upgrade his offensive game. Look for him in the 4th round. I really like this kid.

EDIT: This is my write-up on Grubbe from 2021. The year he was drafted, he had a season-ending knee injury, limiting him to 5 games. His offense was a disappointment the following year, but he hovered just over a ppg this season, and has 10 points in 5 playoff games. He's considered now to be more of a defensive specialist, and he excels in that regard. I definitely wouldn't be upset if we brought this kid into the fold. Big, mean, and moves well.

DeBrincat apparently was non-committal/has no inclination about re-signing in Ottawa and there is a report from Garrioch that he could be moved by the draft in June.

Ottawa has a quite a few top 6 players, so moving him now likely doesn't really hurt him, and Debrincat still has good value.

Lindholm trade:
That's 9th Overall + 41st Overall + 2021 70th Overall LW right-shooting Carter Mazur. This trade makes sense for Detroit in my eyes too because they haven't been able to draft top-end centres since Larkin, but have two studs on the back-end in Seider and Edvinsson. Larkin + Lindholm, Seider + Edvinsson
I do that trade. That's a top-10 pick in this draft, and that should absolutely be the target when it comes to a Lindy trade.
Toffoli trade:
That's 30th, 31st, or 32nd Overall this year + 2024 3rd rounder + 2022 52nd overall LW right-shooting Dmitri Buchelikov
I do that trade.
Both of those Detroit proposals seem good to me.

I think you should be able to get more for Toffoli. We gave up more than that when we traded for him. The Lindholm trade proposal is interesting.
