Breaking Bad was far too inconsistent for me, one episode was awesome and the next was a snore fest...bring on Dexter, PVR set for Sunday!

Why are you flaunting that you are to cheap to pay for a show you are so excited about. Thanks for letting the rest of us pick up the tab.

It went fast but I'm surprised that they went as far as they did plot wise. I figured that last scene would happen midseason.

Is there a way to tell if that was a day dream? It's not like the retro ones.

Realllly good episode; basically topped the entire 5th and 6th season by a mile! and this is why:

1. They kept going with the "flow". Seems like they kept writing themselves into corners and then writing themselves out. If they kept writing like previous two seasons, Debra would discover his "tools" probably in the finale; but this time the writers went right to it.

2. No "main" "bad guy". That aspect always seemed forced after the success of season 4.
Spoiler!

I think this show can redeem itself and make those of us who absolutely hated season 5-6 come back again!

I'm amazed at how fast they went with this first episode. Holding out hope since I really didn't like the last 2 seasons that much either.

One aspect of the show that I wish they'd take another look at is Dexter's killings:
If I remember correctly, in season 1 and 2 he was shown to be very careful, very clinical with his victims. He took his time to observe them, get prepared, and attacked at the right time and in the right area. He was written to be more patient.
As seasons have gone by, the "thrill" of the kills is not there anymore. I as a viewer actually felt a bit uneasy and more emotionally satisfied whenever he killed someone in 1st two seasons. That doesn't happen now. It's not meant to be a chore.

Thats what I thought, maybe it was a dream but a quick trailer on what in this season shows Deb knows it. Therefore not a dream.

Well, the Ukrainian guy(s) llok like the bad guys this time around.

Still can't wait to see Sarah Walker! Solid start. That intern is f'd up, hopefully that story quickly develops.

I've made wild threats before about Dexter and I see no reason to stop now.

If that last scene was a dream then that was the last episode I ever watch. (I think I last made this threat about the possibility of the reporter being a murderer in season 4)

The beginning was only a flash forward to later in the episode. I'm pretty sure, based on Deb's recollection of the Ice Truck Killer and Dexter and everything else she's learned and seen, that the ending was legit.

I see something interesting brewing with Laguerta and the slide. She never wanted to believe the stuff about Doakes. And given her hatred of Deb, it wouldn't shock me that Laguerta finds out and pins it on Deb and Dex both.

I'm still interested to see what the deal is with the intern guy. What does he know? Why is he cancelling Dexter's credit cards?

What am I forgetting about this guy? All I remember is he sent Dex the hand right? Do we know anything else relevant? His relationship to Dexter?

I see the Ray Stevenson character playing a role at some point in the season and that he will be a season long villain. I'm guessing that the Ukrainian mob becomes important to Dexter and Deb's storylines. Dex is very good and very lucky when it comes to two seperate loose ends taking care of each other. I don't see that changing this year.

Deb is complicit in Dexter's crime now and cant turn him in...she helped him get rid of the evidence and burn the church down.
Id like to see Dexter off her this season...just too much angst.
Or in the end maybe Deb suggests Dexter takes a job in "Seattle" or something where he can start anew.

Isnt this the last season of the show? He needs to kill everyone off, move, then the ending should be him showing Harrison how to kill.

I remember someone telling me that in the books, the 2 other kids (the annoying ones tha Rita had) actually start killing with him. Have no idea if thats true or not.

I liked it, great ending but still way to many give me a break moments of suspended logic.

I am on my iPad so don't want to post spoilers but there were at least 5 moments of serious "come on"!
