So if Pittsburgh went out 1st round, we'd have the 15-18th pick along with out own likely top 8 pick. That is not bad in a deep draft. Bare in mind, you'd have to cheer against Iggy and the Pens for that to happen, which for myself, would make me feel a little dirty. But would 2 picks in the top 20, appease some of you naysayers out there?

If the Pens are 1st in conference and lose in the first round, the pick would be 21-22nd.

Anyone else planning on going down to the presser tomorrow? 10:30am.
I don't know if there is any point. Obviously I'm just a fan, looking to see Iginla one more time...wish him off, and the best.
I'm drunk. No, I have not called into the Fan 960...yet.

I am not a fan of this trade, however I do like it better than the rumored Bruins deal. It sounds like both Agostino and Hanowski have 2nd/3rd line potential (at best), I sure hope the 1st round is as deep as everyone claims.
It is really unfortunate a player as classy as Iginla has gone to a franchise like Pittsburgh, it's almost as bad as going to Vancouver.

So what?
The organization gets to move on, that in itself is a positive. We also basically recouped our second rounder.

From all this talk just started listening to overtime on 960. Is this still seriously streaming live?

2 prospects + guaranteed 1st rounder > 1 prospect, 1 depth d-man, conditional first.
Still not a great return though, but we had to get something.

I don't know if that makes me feel better, to get our 2nd round pick for Cammalleri/best-goalie-not-in-the-NHL... for our franchise player

I'll bet a lot of people went to bed before the official announcement??
Any chance the Sun or Herald have stories, or even a cover, of him going to Boston?

Really? My bad. I though that the 14 teams who didn't make the playoffs got spots 1-14 and then the 8 teams to lose in the 1st round would then be 15-22 ....... Ahhhhhhhhhhh I see. Pittsburgh would be the highest seed of the "losers" and would pick 22. My mistake.

Horrible trade Feaster and Johnny are selling us all our hopes and wishes on 2 maybe's.
They traded the face of the organization for 2 NCAA standouts that will i doubt make any significant impact in the NHL beyond 3rd line players.
Of course they will shove them down our throat ala Butler style.

Actually teams that lose in the first 2 round are grouped together. Here's how it works:
30th: Stanley Cup winner
29th: loser in SCF
28th and 27th: conference final losers ranked by points
26th-15th: Teams that lose in the first 2 rounds ranked in reverse standings order.
So if Pittsburgh finishes top 2 or 3 in the league, the absolute earliest the pick could be is in the 24-25 range assuming they lose in the first 2 rounds. If they win the President's Trophy the earliest they can draft is 26th which is what happened to the Canucks last year.

He's going to a team on a 13 game winning streak. Good chance on getting the cup Iggy.

Does anyone know if there is a Penguins forums board, like CP (yes, I know CP is unique).

Wow. I picture most of these callers calling from a dusty cabin in the woods wearing that old-timey long underwear that is stained like a WW2 bandage.
