Peyton Manning is taking over John Elway's old job -- and living in Mike Shanahan's house.

Shanahan's house is a 35,000-square-foot mansion in Cherry Hills Village, one of the Denver area's fanciest neighborhoods. It's only expected to be a temporary deal until Manning finds a permanent place to live in the Mile High City.

Broncos owner Pat Bowlen once called Shanahan his coach for life, which might help explain why the coach built the colossus of a house, which has an elevator, a bowling alley and a 3,603-square-foot garage.

Pats claim TE Jake Ballard off waivers from the Giants. They will stash him on LTIR and own his rights for next year.

You never know...the year the Packers won it all they had 5 TE's on the roster to start the season.

I mean having lots of tight ends is one thing, but Ballard has proven to be an NFL starter and the Pats already have arguably 2 of the 10 best TEs in the game. They could use the roster spot for more important players. Knowing the Pats, this is probably an eff you to the Giants.

^^ its likely a combo of F you and having someone to back up Gronk and Hernandez. Both of them were injured at points last season so having someone who can fill in seamlessly would be great. That and we grabbed a player who killed us last year. ;-)

So, the NFL had to provide the Saints players' bounty evidence to the NFLPA today prior to the appeal hearings of the four current and former Saints. According to sources, it is less than convincing:

The NFL, in a three-year, on-again/off-again investigation, said it had compiled some 5,000 documents totaling more than 18,000 pages, and that its account was corroborated by, "multiple, independent sources."

What the league turned over Friday, however, amounted to less than 200 pages... It also does not appear to include any documents showing a 'bounty ledger,' the existence of which had been reported by Yahoo! Sports, nothing backing up the league's contention former Saints defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove lied to league investigators, and none of the complete set of 2010 defensive meeting videotapes the NFLPA asked for in a Friday letter to Goodell.

Curiously, the packet did contain two items that could not possibly have been used as evidence by Goodell when he imposed the unprecedented discipline because at the time Goodell did so the documents did not exist. Those are a May 31 on-line screed published by documentary filmmaker Sean Pamphilon and a column by The Times-Picayune's Mike Triplett based on an interview with Saints linebacker Scott Fujita. That article was published on June 6.

I'm curious to see how the suspensions are handled if there is no actual evidence of intent to injure provided by the NFL.

Running back LaDainian Tomlinson, the NFL’s fifth all-time leading rusher, will re-sign with San Diego and announce his retirement Monday.

Guy was my fav player during his Chargers days. Just makes me wish that RB's were able to play longer. He came in the same year as Vick and Vick can still get it done.
