Hindsight or not. Things may look good to an ordinary person but may not work in term of chemistry, potential, fit etc…

It is a results business, and I wasn't suggesting differently.
But some things are outside the control of the GM, and their evaluation should recognize that. Marner was a good signing for VGS - pretty straight-forward decision process for the GM. Fast forward 2 or 3 years, and Marner becomes an alcoholic, slips out of shape, and is a shadow of his former playing self. Is that bad GMing?
People are so binary, and seem incapable of nuance sometimes.
