Stunts was the bomb.
For those looking for Hard Driving, which again was an excellent game for its time, you can find it on Midway Arcade Treasures 2 for the Playstation 2. If you have backwards compatibility on your PS3, it works fine.

Stunts was epic. I can't believe it has never been modernized and re-made. Who doesn't want to create their own tracks and race through loops, and jumps.
First game I can remember that had replays of your race too; was awesome if you had an epic crash.

I'm in for any type of network GT5 play.
The game is pretty much the same as before. I do wish that they would do a better job on the menus / user navigation experience... they choose the wrong points to be the loading / return points. That really reduces the "experience" in my opinion. For example, when you're doing the license tests, it's much faster to disqualify yourself if you're not going to make the time versus finishing it and having the program tell you your time and then reload. But then if you're close, it's a stupid trade-off to finish and see your time versus the prolonged menu navigation to re-run the test if you didn't make the cut. Not that this was any better in the previous incarnations, but that type of attention to simple detail would make this game so much more enjoyable / less frustrating to play.

Ha that's funny, I was doing the exact same thing with the licenses....those 5-10 seconds extra are fairly annoying. I love this game but these load times are clearly it's biggest downfall.

I do remember in the last one, always resetting the test before I finished and had to go through a menu/load.
Honestly this thread is making me debate whether I'll buy this game, and I was pretty excited about it for a long time.

I wouldn't let these things prevent you from buying the game. They can be annoying, yes, but the gameplay itself is still pretty awesome.

Let me clarify my comments:
The game is as good as before. It's just not 5.5-years-between-release-dates better.
It's amazing to me that the user experience issues haven't been noticed and/or addressed in all this time. The home screen where you can access your garage and the various races is still weirdly laid out with the routes that they allow the cursor to take.
And what's with this semi delivering the cars versus them showing up in the garage? Am I missing an aspect of this game in that there are only so many spots in the garage so you have to leave cars undelivered in the semi? Or is this there simply to force me to waste another 30-60s each time?

I guess I'll just temper my expectations and give it a try soon. Just a little disappointing for a game that you wait this long for, and I'm guessing a lot of us are in that boat.

Not GT5 related, but if anyone likes Need for Speed: Shift, I just bought it off Amazon for $9.99.....not a bad deal!

Guys... it seems like the GT5 load time issues are caused largely in part by the constant internet connection that is being used. Apparently if you disable internet your load times should drop significantly. We will also be seeing a patch for this soon. I can't try yet cuz my PS3 is in the process of being backed up from my phat to the slim.

Let me know if you guys see any improvements.

I mentioned that a few posts ago (#117). I played last night and didn't notice any longer load times than what Forza 3 had. Maybe the in games menus were longer to load but loading races seemed the exact same.
The shadows are absolutely atrocious when using the third person camera while driving in the rain. They are really jaggy and the whole car seems to be surrounded by it (rain mist).

load times a non-issue for me....this thing is bloody brilliant. my biggest issue with it is forcing myself not to play it

Gotta love the Lancia!
I've lost way too much time to this game this weekend.

The Top Gear test track races are fun but annoying with that Lotus.

I played some of the license tests while I wait for my Rennsport Wheel Stand. I honestly can't see why there are complaints regarding the load times. Pressing pause and restarting a test is instant but going through the whole thing and restarting as well only takes 2-3 seconds.

took a bit of time to beat that but its a matter of car setup and knowing where you can and can't pass.
chicago, hammerhead and gambon are ideal places to pass
