The thing that really has been bothering me lately is how much of an advantage the home team has. I understand that often the home team should be given one, but I don't think they should be given that in a video game. We're playing random games against friends, not a set number which evens out in the end.
The home team already has the largest advantage by going up the screen, but also hits are that much stronger among other things.

I think you can change that in the settings to always up or something.

Yeah I have it for online play, but I was actually more so talking about playing offline, 2 players.
To keep that as fair as possible I keep that as 1 & 3 period home team up, 2nd = away.
For a while there when my friends and I played it was essentially whoever was the home team would win the game.

It's flame stalker, has nothing to do with stalking anybody.. or the Flames even. just sounds cool on a PSN account. And it has absolutely no relation to this embarassment..

That's when you're suppose to challenge your buddy to a 7 game series and show him who's boss.

But still in the 7 game series one guy will have home ice advantage 4 times and the other guy only 3.

Just to be clear, there is no home ice advantage boosts at all in terms of player skill. The only such would be user determined by camera angle if anything.

I prefer to go north, but I always score more goals going south. I think it's because when I'm going north I try to pick every corner, while going south I end up usually shooting lower.

Apparently I'm the complete opposite. I prefer going south, but am comfortable in either direction.

Here's hoping they get rid of D-men (online) being able to destroy you within a certain area close to the net, even if you don't have a puck. How many times do I have to get raped just going to the front of the net? I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it if I could hit back, but you barely touch the guy and you get a penalty.
Goddamn it's the most ridiculous thing in NHL10

I'd be cool with a less stringent interference penalty. There was a time when interference wasn't called at all ... it was madness. Now they've brought it in but it doesn't really work all the time. I'd love to see a slider attributed to each penalty call. The 2k series did this back in 2k4 when I played it and it was brilliant. You could jack something like interference all the way up and take something that gets called too much and tone it back.

I specifically said "south" instead of "down" to avoid that statement, but I guess I do go both ways in this case.

The problem is, I play 100% NHL10 online. There are never any sliders that you can adjust. You get what you get.
And for the love of God, why can we still not edit lines and save them for online play? So annoying.

I prefer going North and I find I play a more complete game that way.
When I'm going South I score a lot of goals but I can't play defense worth @$#!.

Yes!!
It pisses me off to no end how the AI defenders can just continually whoop my ass in front of the net, but if I nudge him back, I get called for the penalty. Drives me nuts.
This isn't how the NHL is played anymore (minus the SCF this year).
I play exclusively online as well, so these sliders are useless to me, and a lot of NHL players.

That's not the point. You shouldn't need to adapt to a stupid game mechanic.
