Finished the single player tonight and it's a great game.
Liked they replaced the floating balls with lasers, less wait time.
The only thing I must say though is it felt easier... Some of the levels did take a while to figure out, but there seemed to be a lot more in the way of clues in this game. The number of white plates is far less so when you see one you almost always know it's important somehow, try a few things and everything just clicks into place. Didn't spend much time frustrated or retrying to get a level done, most of the time it was just a matter of looking around.
Still lots of fun though.
I was going to post that too. Eventually, it gets to a point where anytime you notice a white wall you know it's going to be used for that level.
Regardless, it's still one hell of a kickass game.
I still remember the first portal had a hard mode that was basically the same maps and puzzles but the difficulty was cranked up. I'm disappointed to hear there is no such thing but I guess the story is much stronger in this one?
nope, i played Portal at release and the challenge maps were included. i think they released a few more ones later
Yeah, it was a while ago so I wasn't completely sure. Maybe there were other ones after that I'm thinking of? I just seem to remember somewhere along the way that I had some new maps to play...
Picked this up for my wife and I. I have to say, GLaDOS is cracking me up this go-round. She was pretty funny to listen to last game, but this one they've really outdone themselves.
