I think as far as online "vs." play goes, this is probably the best the NHL series has ever been. Since the patch it is a lot harder to score goals in any kind of cheap way...save for just cutting across the front of the net...but I mean, if you're going to let someone in front of your net alone, you deserve to be scored on.
The one gripe I still have with especially online play is line changes. It takes much longer than it should, as it seems to take a second or so for the "line changer" to even notice that you've hit a button. Secondly, often times when you bring up your lines after a penalty kill or powerplay, it shows the incorrect amount of energy for all lines, and only corrects it once you've switched off the line that is on the ice.
Now, it's not that this is a big deal, but it just seems like something that shouldn't be so complicated.
Even with that, I think the online game is pretty close to perfect as it stands. Not many areas to improve upon, which is very good news.

I'm too lazy to check, is the roster update out for the 360 yet?

Why did it take so long to come out with a roster update, I mean a week? Seriously?

I have already been delivering some serious pwnage with the Flames pre-roster update team in Versus play! I can't wait to get home and try playing online with Olli Iggy Cammy as a line!

I highly recommend that you move Joker to the wing, faceoffs = fail.

Me too, I was winning most of my faceoffs with Joker.

Man, I love the new roster updates. As well, they have Backlund in Quad Cities but sucks you can't use him online vs.

I moved Joker to the Flames on deadline day myself and he was horrible. However last night after I got the real roster update he was better. Luck? Or did EA do some tinkering?

before patch it was like

80 minutes powerplay
100 minutes shorthanded

50 games played in season

after patch

75 games played in season
95 minutes powerplay
217 mintes shorthanded

so with the patch: 15 minutes powerplay vs 117 minutes shorthanded.... and its normally 4 penalties against me vs 0 for them for most of the games, with some oddballs like 7 for me vs 0 for them, 9 for me vs 0 for them...

its rediculous

half my penalties are CPU, but you'd think the CPU on the other side would do some penalties.. maybe? .. oh and i dont fight at all

I actually usually take less penalties then the CPU now. I find that they take a ton when you can hem then into there own zone. Generally I bring a guy over the blueline, stickhandle into the corner and then setup a forecheck, then pass to the blueline and try to get a rebound in, or just work my 3 forwards in the board. If I can hold it in for even a bit of time the comp takes a penalty for interference, tripping, elbowing, etc.

Most games are usually 3 penalties to the CPU and 2 to me.

After the trade deadline I was 4-0 with Calgary with Lombo getting 2+ goals a game, after the roster update I am 2-1 and no goals for Jokinen. He has been good for me though, but I miss Lombo on the penalty kill with the shorties. Primeau=fail , slow, no hands, can't pass.

Primeau is wonderfully hard to knock of the puck but his skill set doesn't really suit the new style. He was much more effective before the patch. Usually if I'm really trying to win I'll just put Iginla on the PK.

Ha, I went to the Flames, and he thought I was stacked so he goes to the Centenial Montreal so I go to Russia. I outshout him 51-19, and I won 4-3. Nabby played good, but Dryden is crazy good. It was 2-0, then he got 2 stupid goals (Montreal 100, easy shots go in because they are the 100 Montreals), but Kovulchuck made it 3-2 off the draw, tied it up, then with 20 seconds left Ovy got a break away and won it. That was a good game.

It is odd, because I always quit when people play as cheap teams like Detroit, or Pit, or something, or I did before the patch+roster update. So I go to Flames, and he changes from a good team (forget which one), and goes Detroit. I decide to play. Within 6 minutes I am up 3-0 and he quits. LOL

People can play as Detroit all they want, just let me shoot at Osgood, or should I say Oscrap.

Well I just played San Jose and scored twice with Olli Jokinen within 2 minutes of starting the game on two breakaways. He quit after 4 minutes. I LOVE THE NEW FLAMES!!
