Team Hangin' at the Dome completes its forward line with a CP all-time favourite,
Stephane Yelle
They call him "Sandbox," because he's so gritty.
I like Stephane Yelle.

Team YEAH BABY! are pleased to select our final defenceman,
James Patrick
James will be a perfect steady compliment to his partner, Gary Suter.
James played 217 games for the Flames over 5 seasons recording 70 points.

With its 5th round pick, Team Harvey the Hound is pleased to select COLIN PATTERSON, F.
Rounding out our forward line of Mullen-Gilmour-Patterson, this trio was a force in leading the Flames to the Stanley Cup in 1989. His forechecking ability and two-way game was the perfect complement to the scoring touch of Mullen and Gilmour. He also had the pivotal first goal in clinching Game 6 of the 89 Finals against Montreal. Colin finished up with 416 GP and 187 points (88 G, 99 A) with the Flames.

With its 6th and final pick, Team Harvey the Hound is pleased to select DENIS GAUTHIER, D.
There were a couple of choices here, but in the end, we decided to go with some toughness to complement our other defenceman, Phil Housley. Gauthier is one of the biggest hitters to put on a Flames uniform, and gained a reputation for his tough, defensive style. In 6+ seasons with the Flames, he played in 384 games (6th all-time amongst defencemen), scored 58 points (13 G, 45 A), and had 515 PIM.

Nice choice. I almost took Colin with the last pick but decided I needed a solid D first.

Team YEAH BABY! needs to select an honest, hard working mucker to grind it out for the flashy and feisty Euros on his line. Titov and Loob will provide the goals while
Ronnie Stern will provide the muck!
396 games played over 7 seasons. 125 points and a whopping 1288 penalty minutes. Stern will protect the Euros.
I like this line
Titov-Loob-Stern has to be good for a few goals and will be responsible on the ice.
Suter-Patrick will add a few from the back end (Suter) while Patrick will be the defensively sound one.
Wamsley is a more than adequate goalie to round out the lineup.
Good thread and good fun. Thanks tvp2003
To finish I'll just holler a.........
YEAH BABY!!!!!!

^^ I guess I got lucky with Patterson -- I had just assumed that a plugger like him would make it until the final rounds. If he was gone, I probably would have went with Stern as my last forward
P.S. It's not over yet... there will still be a supplemental draft after all the picks have been made (not for evaluation purposes, but just to add a few more guys to the rosters )

Team Hangin' at the Dome completes its starting roster lineup by reuniting the steady Defense pairing of Robyn Regehr and
Jordan Leopold
Quote:
Playing career
Leopold was drafted in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft 44th overall by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and is considered to be a solid offensive defenseman. In 1999, the year in which he was drafted, he scored 23 points in the regular season playing for the University of Minnesota. In 2002, he won the Hobey Baker Award for being the season's outstanding player in college hockey. He also played for the USA in the World Championships that year.
Although he was drafted in 1999, he would not begin his NHL career until the 2002–03 NHL season. He played 58 games for the Calgary Flames and scored 4 goals and 14 points. In his second season, Leopold would look like a seasoned veteran, playing in all 82 regular season games and scoring 33 points as well as contributing to the Flames' playoff run to the Stanley Cup Final, play which earned him a spot in the defense of the American national team for the 2005 World Championships and the 2006 Winter Olympics.
On June 24, 2006, during the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Leopold was traded to the Colorado Avalanche with a 2nd round pick in the 2006 draft (Codey Burki) and a 2007 2nd round pick (Trevor Cann) in exchange for Alex Tanguay.[1]

^^^ I should have seen that coming (especially with the thread on the main forum) Good pick, especially paired up with Regehr.

The Puck Was In!!! is delighted to select a blueliner that is the epitome of heart, desire and smarts - Andrew Ference.
In 224 regular season games with the Flames, Ference had 10G & 53A for 63Pts and 210PIMs. In 33 playoff games, Ference added an additional 7A & 37PIMs. He was a little guy who played big and didn't back down from a challenge and was part of the heart & soul in the locker room. Not only was he a good teammate, he was and is a good person - leading the charge for the NHL & NHLPA to become more environmentally conscious and acting as and ambassador for the Right to Play organization. He even took the time to interact with us humble fans on CP.com....there really isn't much ill to be said of our friend Okotoker!

I didn't think he would last until the Supplemental draft...
I could have done without the shirtless photos though
