In any case, pretty sure these are not just paper callups to reward them.
Bahl, Pachal and Hanley have exceeded expectations.
Miromanov, Barrie and Bean have not.
This is the time of year that you deal with the underperformers at the bottom parts of the roster and give others a chance.

I thought they were sent back down to lessen that days at the NHL level for waiver eligibility.

Like what?
Guys aren't being sent down so they can practice with the AHL team for a day.

We have played a bunch of vets all year, this is a or should be a rebuilding team. We need to see what we have with some of these guys and how they fit in the organization going forward.
Just because we are 3 points out of a wild card shouldn't change that we should be developing and building for 2-3 seasons out.

I think he goes unclaimed, rides out the string with the Wranglers and calls it a day at the end of the season.

Honestly if he's okay playing the A, he benefits from the team being in the same city. Maybe he's more willing to do that as a result.
Or maybe he'll get claimed, or maybe then go to unconditional waivers and do a Saad.
Wonder if he goes back to Edm?

Taking a while to get to 5000

Interesting that at practice its Hanley with Weegar again. I'd really go Solovyov there instead.

Probably because Hanley has been the best partner with weegar this season. Flames are still trying to make playoffs . They are not going to try and use this time as a development stage. Probably those thoughts change after the next road trip. That’s a brutal trip that could have them easily out of a playoff spot

I hope he gets claimed, comes in as an injury replacement in game 7 against the Oilers and pots the winning goal in a 1-0 game.

WE need Barrie, if we fall out of the race I would give him 20 plus minutes a night.

It would be good for the wranglers for barrie to be down there, a good mentor for players like bru and poirer. He's well liked in the locker room, and with tinordi out having that veteran presence can help them as they've been somewhat struggling the last little while.

Given that train of thought, a non-playoff team should pick him up on waivers for sure!

Yes. If we have a legit shot of falling into the bottom 10 at that point.

What's interesting is that Poirier didn't get the call.

Barrie was mainly signed as a potential pump and dump, which didn't work out. He was always going to be gone by the trade deadline one way or another. Considering he has no trade value, this was the only other choice.
I would not be surprised if Solovyov is a flight risk at this time. He will be 25 in July and has a young family. Playing another year in the AHL versus making more in the KHL has to be a factor for him as he is entering his prime, especially when you look at all the defense prospects the Flames have. You don't want to be the 25 year old guy on the farm team with all those youngsters coming in.

He has a one way contract next year for 700K+. I suspect he won't fly away this offseason.
