I don't think it's a bad move for a market like ANA. It's probably to help them with the 8 veterans/game rule, and he will probably end up fighting some kid in pre-season which will entertain the home crowd.
I would be shocked if he gets a contract in the NHL next season.

I feel like if he just wants to play regardless of location he would have a contract already. The iron man streak and Kessel getting to 1000 points would be free advertising for a franchise that wants to sell some tickets.

I wouldn't be surprised if he opts for a bottom feeder in hopes of being a deadline rental.

Kessel isn't the worst idea. Need a RHS to replace Toffoli, especially one with some skill for the PP.

Hard pass.
Vegas didn't even think he could hack it towards the end.

Vegas was stacked in the playoffs though. They had depth coming out the wazoo.
36 points in 82 regular season games while averaging ~12:30 in ice time is not bad. I think if you can have a bottom 6 player getting almost 0.5 PPG, it's pretty good.

So, who are you sitting?
Coronato most likely. Kessel isnt signing in Calagry for 4RW duty. He isn't taking top 6 minutes either.
He isn't a fit. Also the Flames are still over the cap and aren't spending money on Kessel after they move a guy like Hanifin. And Kessel isn't taking league min either.

According to some reports Comtois is close to signing a PTO with Vegas.
Would have liked to see the flames give him a chance also as a PTO but I can understand why Vegas is more appealing.
