63.6 Awarded Goal - In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal.
I thought the net was off before the puck was even shot.
Maybe I'm wrong though.
Seems weird that it would be a good goal if the net was off before the shot was taken.

The big difference for me wasn't the Flames were some offensive juggernaut just because Vladar was in net, it was that they were actually getting some breaks, along with some really weak goaltending from Wedgewood.
I keep reading some people believe that it's a different team with Vladar in net. I don't see it. They're very inconsistent with both in net. But hey.....they took advantage of what was given to them today and put 6 up on the board, I'm okay with that. I like wins.
Looks to me like the defence is more active and they are a bit more loose in the D zone because they know we will get some saves.
Not just thaf but the creative guys are being a bit more risky.
The team looked the same way vs the Oilers in the playoffs after Markstrom capped the bed in game 1.
Thought Wedgewood was pretty poor. Flames dominated most of the first two periods but never deserved to be up 6-1.
Total team collapse in the third not a good sign. I still think this team should be doing what it can do to get a shot at Bedard because the playoffs are going to be a waste of time. But the Flames making the playoffs goes a long way to keeping the grease out. As long as Bedard goes East I guess.

I don’t mind Lucic on the second line but I think they could be more effective with a different player on their line. What Lucic does on that line is nothing special, it is just an obvious play style that works with Huberdeau, Lucic drives the net, slows down the game and forechecks. The similar play style imo can be offered by Ruzicka and Pelletier, but with an addition of being an offensive threat and more creative.
Lucic has done great on that line for what he is but it’s not a long term solution, that line is not nearly as dominant as they should be
is this the first game between us since last seasons playoffs?

The offense is driven in this system by moving quick with efficient exits, when other teams adapt you adapt also but to let their adaptations drive you into a shell of perceived safety you’ve already lost. An actual offensive call up to solve the only actual problem up front (a facilitator for Segs) rather than adding more 4th liners to confuse the team makeup would help but Miro isn’t immune to mistakes when he’s the only guy being asked to do damn near everything on the D. The mess is easy to see and easy to fix as long as easy includes sitting Suter and bringing up the proper pieces rather than the easy ones.

As I mentioned, I had to miss the game. When I heard the final score, I told myself that I would bet a LOT that stupid Joe had almost done us in. Stupid Pavelski. Glad we held on.
Defensive failings asside. Huberdeau having a big offensive gane is nice.
Good game from him tonight. Hopefully he can keep it going. He was pretty much invisible the last game in St. Louis. He needs to be a factor every night if this team is going to have a chance.
