no upside left in these vets
I just want to see us build a better product by teaching a young group if bottom sixers the ropes of the 200 foot game so we can enjoy some actual speed and skill after line 2
deferring to old guys who've seen their best days is such a lazy way to fill out your roster when you're signing 4 or 5 of them
less replacement level vets in the future please
watching zohorna, ruzicka and duehr down there has been incomparably more enjoyable
invest in the players you hand picked and developed

I never understand complaining about Lewis. Seems like a good vet to play with Ruzicka and Duer. Plays the game the right way.

I'd have left Rooney and Ritchies slots for kids

Come on, Markstrom was fantastic against Dallas. Let's not rewrite the history books here. And let's give him his due, as he earned it.

That was a real nice goal by the rookie. He looked good on that line. Not much from the Kadri line tonight, but the other three looked good.

Yeah but half the posts are about the goalie who didn't play tonight.

because tonight exemplified why we need to start this guy more, and that guy less
an easier path is there for them, they should try and take it
we don't have to set ourselves up for pain and disappointment as often as we do

And the same team is in first in the west right now
Dallas with Jake is a top team
They also finished ahead of Nashville obviously since they played the Flames and not the Avs

You would not have signed Rooney? Quite the insight 42 games in.
Ritchie has been just fine, glad he’s here.
And “probably wouldn’t mind” keeping Lewis?

If you don't win, it's always the goalie! Never the forwards and D and their all-too regular breakdowns. Oh, and Sutter.

Only critique I have right now is that PP1 unit. Really wish they’d mix it up and shuffle off Andersson.
Great game otherwise, goaltending, team defence and some nice passing tonight. They worked hard and earned it and if they win the next one we can call it a great road trip and a much needed great road trip.

Because it's foolish to put all our eggs in one basket.
Even if Vladat were given the net from here on out, at some point, he's probably going to have a few less than stellar games, and having a goalie who is used to a much heavier workload rusting away on the bench isn't going to provide much relief.
I believe it's a pretty different mindset and routine to be a backup vs a starter, and Markstrom (like anyone) would probably face some difficulty transitioning to a backup role (should that happen).

Not sure whether I want to put my money on you, or on a 2-time Stanley Cup winning coach. Appeal to authority, I know, but my money's on Sutter knowing more than you.
