Uhh… haha. You guys think this is a terrible team? That offense is comparable to Calgary’s. I mean yes on D they are but they’re built like the Oilers that way. Do you think the Oilers are horrendous and will miss the playoffs? There are absolutely worse teams out there.

So Montreal are the Oilers without McDavid lol
wow high praise

Wow. That was a dog of a game. But man, was it ever entertaining.
The Flames played like garbage, and I ain't even mad. Carry on.

"the whole division is ridiculous"
"not a bad team"
we will see...there will be multiple bad teams in that division when all is said and done

Okay but that’s kind of a cop out a little bit because the way the division/ scheduling works implies that of course one will have a bad record because they play each other.
Here’s a better question for you. Who in that division is in bottom 5 in the NHL?
I say nobody. We can make a bet and I actually will pay up if I lose… just ask Jayswin.

Bottom 5 is too hard to call, Montreal is bottom 10 for sure
being better than Arizona and Chicago this year doesn't make a team not bad...they are trying to lose
seems like a cop out to say no bad teams but admit that some will have bad records
like I said earlier Anaheim was a first place team last January

Well maybe the difference between our opinions is what makes a team “bad” or not.
Good teams miss the playoffs and the parity in the NHL is nuts. There usually isn’t much difference between teams 4/5 through 22-24 when it’s all said and done. I don’t think those 6 or 7 teams that miss by a couple points are “bad”.

Its crazy how "bad" the Flames look in a game with even possession and even scoring chances...we are kinda spoiled lately

Montreal will miss the playoffs by double digits, that is bad IMO

Well last year there was. 16 point gap between 8-9 out east. I don’t expect that to happen again. I think we all expect that to close but who do we think is really going to miss out east? Capitals is the easy pick. Boston was a popular preseason pick too but they’re looking good. I’m not counting out the Florida teams or Toronto or Pittsburgh. Rangers look really good too. It’s just hard to see more than one team from below knocking a top team out there.

I am pretty sure this is the same guy who picked Seattle to finish ahead of the Flames last season. His takes can be... out there.

Hahaha no! I did not but that is funny.
The bet I lost was I think Ottawa to finish higher than Calgary but that was 2 years ago. The year the all-Canadian div when Sutter was hired. I think that was the bet if I recall. I was just a couple years early as they’ll blossom this year now (but not be better than Calgary this year).

Okay deal sounds good. If Montreal finishes within 9 pts of playoffs you owe me $20 and if they’re 10 or more back of a playoff spot I’ll pay you $20.
