There's a difference between crowd noise during play, and obnoxiously loud music and announcers between plays.

Also I emailed my STH rep. Said he wasn't aware of any changes this year, and first he heard of the noise issue.

This isn't a new thing; it was bad last year too. Went to two games in April. After the first one, my voice was wrecked. The second game, I just tried not to talk.
One thing that also affected me was smoke that was released from the fireball boxes before the game. Don't know if they're still doing it, but in April, before the game started, the boxes released smoke for about 5 mins. actually making the air above the rink blue. Happened both games. It was so hard on my throat.

First game last night for me this season, and I definitely did notice the music is louder than in past seasons. Was this a conscious choice by the Flames? If so, I hope they do listen to fan feedback and actually lower the volume. It was just obnoxiously loud.

Conversation with buddy who is new to the game.
my buddy: Why's that no goal?
me: what?
my buddy: WHY'S THAT NO GOAL?
me: because Vegas challenged that we interfered with their goalie.
my buddy: what?
me: BECAUSE VEGAS CHALLENGED THAT WE INTERFERED WITH THEIR GOALIE.
A cheering Dome is awesome but having to raise your voice so the person a foot away from you can hear you, for 3 hours gets to be a bit too much.
And to be clear it's not the cheering people are complaining about, it's the volume out of speakers. The people on Scotsman's Hill could probably hear Brendan Parkers interviews.

In PL last night I found it brutal. I wonder if it's really hard to balance PL with the rest of the arena? We are kind of in an attic up there.

We sit mid 213’s and we were pleasantly talking to each other throughout the game. I heard a noticeable volume difference, as in - it was quieter.
I suspect the 300’s are louder due to speaker placement.. just guessing though.

I sat in section 104, and it was just annoyingly loud. I was trying to explain why the first goal was being called back to my friend from South Africa who's never really watched hockey before, and he couldn't hear what I was saying.

The Wranglers game on Monday was much better than opening night for either the Flames (Last Thursday) or the Wranglers (Sunday). I hope they fix this. A loud dome is good but I’d rather it be due to the crowd than blaring speakers.

I didn't notice it being too loud in 226. I didn't really look where the speaker are though, and I'm right near the front edge of the section, with an entrance right behind, so there's a lot of open air around me.

So, tonight, at warmup… wow, what a difference from Tuesday. It’s gone from a 7 on the dial to about 12. Out of 10.
Insane uptick in volume.

It’s so loud in warmup you can hardly hear Loubo on the radio pregame. Even louder than the already excessively loud? What’s going on over there at the dome? Someone trying to sabotage attendance?

I'm wondering if the volume may cause issues with the literal crumbling roof?

So they read this thread, and then turned it up? Lol
Negotiating tactic for new arena? I feel like more trucks in the concourse is a better play…

I was at a game in the preseason and didn’t really have a huge exception to the volume of the music. I think the music is crap.
It’s just it all sounds the same. All rave dance music. It’s the same crap we’ve had for years. The team has a new identity this year. They should freshen up the production somehow.
Same thing with the goal song. Shot down In Flames should be remembered as the goal song for the Johnny, Monny and Chucky era. With the core on the team changing this year we should’ve transitioned in game production too or are we going to wait 10 years for a new building to do that?
