Without ref involvement / kept mostly 5 on 5 the Flames are probably up 3-1 or better after 40.

Oilers were given a gust at their backs that they didn't deserve because they hardly had the puck at even strength.

I thought it depended on when the ref intended to call the play dead. If the ref says he lost sight of the puck and decides the play is dead, you can't really review that, even if the puck was technically still loose.

Rasmus and Zadorov were responsible for 2 goals against each.

Just putrid from the two of them.

Honda Centre, First games of the season, and Game 2's. So weird how completely different iterations of the Flames fall victim to the same curses lol

Seems like a lot of stuff went against the Flames tonight. The super soft (but legit) 4-minute high sticking penalty, the bounces for breakaways, the 50/50 roughing calls, etc. Can't remember who it was, but there was a great chance for the Flames when they had a 3-1 lead that was stopped. Soon after, the Oilers made it 3-2.

Overall, a frustrating game.

Couldn’t agree more. As long as the series is tied or the Flames are winning I don’t tend to get too fussed. The intermission content made me angrier than the actual game.

The McDavid dick riding needs to end. We get it. He’s good. I don’t need to hear about him for 20 minutes between every period. And I don’t care what the odds are on the game. I really don’t.

And I REALLY don’t need more Ron MacLean. It’s time to take him out to pasture.

How the hell does Johnny get a penalty for getting hit from behind and going down. I mean I thought they were cracking down on cross-checking.

What's funny? Can you explain why the Edmonton non goal was reviewed and the Calgary non goal was not? Do you believe the Edmonton non goal was more deserving of a 2nd look and should have counted?

The 4min high-sticking penalty on Stone in the second, really got me. His arm was swung around by the oiler player, then 5 foot Yamamoto skates into it while on his knee? What luck.

We miss Tanev. A lot of our pairings are getting different matchups than they would have if Tanev was playing. They HAVE to figure it out though.

That short handed goal was rough.

It wasn't even a high stick. Yamamoto bent over when he got hit. His face was below shoulder level.

Zadarov's worst game in the past 20-25 games.

The blood rule is really dumb and needs to be reconsidered anyways. Somebody popped a zit in the first game tonight and got 4 mins from it, too.

2 mins would've been a fair enough bad break...but maybe call Nurse breaking his stick on Toffoli, too.

Backlund. Clean breakaway, no shot. It happens but it hurts.

No goddam way do the refs get a pass. We were absolutely shafted on that goal. Would have been 4-4 and anyone’s game. Just effing brutal.

hope Tanev is able to come back 100%

Flames definitely need to be careful from this point forward with refereeing the way it is... have to stay out of the box and 4 on 4...

While the refs were not good, the Flames also were not good...going to need to be a lot more disciplined going forward.

gotta play a boring, ugly road game... hope that someone hammers McDavid, with a clean hit of course, next game.

A mixture of the Flames refusing to continue to push and turning it over, after dominating the first 10, combined with the worst officiated game I've ever seen in the playoffs, sealed the deal tonight.

I love the aggressiveness in the o zone but at some point even though you are in the attacking end, you still have to be conscious of their transition. The Flames have failed miserably at that element through 2 games.

Luckily the game 2 thing isn't a back breaker. We can work around it.

Honda curse is dead and in the ground, my friend.
